Matrix 3 is such a load of garbage, it has utterly despoiled one of the best films of the 90s. The memory of the first Matrix film, the exquisite fights, the wonderful exposition and thought provoking plot are lost in a mess of religious parallel and pointless, wasteful, boring, painful "drama".
Fight at the gun check - crap we'd seen *much* better in Ep 1.
Fight in Bondage Club - boring, outcome was inconsistent.
Lando flying out the death star, err Hammer chase - Lucas want's royalties *now*, damnit, although Larry Fishburne did a decent Nien Nunb.
Zion fight - reasonably entertaining.
Bane fight - yawn.
Bane impression of Smith - quite good in a comedy way.
Flying into Zero One - ok, I guess.
Smith Fight - probably the best bit, homaged the dojo from 1 in a better way than the blatant rip of the gun check fight, raindrop, face compressing punch was quite fun, only "new" trick in the entire film, however.
And that's about it for action in a 2 and a half hour film, barely 20 minutes of "fun". The rest of drawn out, pants rubbish. It's a sad way to finish the trilogy, it is actually *worse* than Matrix 2, and I really didn't think that would be possible. While Matrix 2 had overlong fights, I actually enjoyed it in the cinema, although repeat viewings are tedious.
The christ ending was utterly pathetic, I don't actually care if he is alive or dead (he's dead, btw, but the choice is open as to whether it is the Canoe "one" which is reincarnated or a new "one"). But frankly I don't give a f**k.
Waste of time, don't spend money on it. I'm glad I didn't.
Regards,
Eduin

An action movie with little action and shit, over-long dramatic set up is pants. No two ways about it. It doesn't need working out, there is nothing deep or meaningful in the piece, it is obvious and trashy.

I didn't really care for it, either. Of course, the only things that really impressed me from the series were the special efx and the fights. I didn't watch them to gain a greater understanding of life.
I think they tried too hard with the message.

Can a christ parallel even be called a message? But you're right in many ways. They ran out of special effects and I think they also lost some faith after the panning of the second one. There were, what, *two* bullet time sequences in the entire thing? I don't accept the criticism that it was over-used in part 2 - it's a stylistic link of the trilogy, like the WW2 fighter plane parallels of Star Wars space battles - use it
They ran out of tricks and started lifting things wholesale. The opening fight was just a s****y copy of the corridor scene of Episode 1 and the Hammer chase was just the Return of the Jedi death star chase. Shit the f****r even turned sideways to get "out".

Eduin

It is so wonderful and so sad and so *needed*. Life really is the suck, this just makes that so. It is a wonderful series of novels.
Everyone should read this. It is beyond compare.

if your late twenties consisted of the matrix and the matrix only, you deserve to have gotten f****d by a action popcorn flick, which is what the series basically boils down to.
Dont expect more and im sure you would be wholly satisfied by the film.
why do morons always try to find some deeper meaning, I imagine Eduin in his 60's trying to make some stupid pilgramage to some lost temple to look for the "So needed" meaning to life.
The meaning of life is to survive and procreate.
I saved you a trip later in life Ed, thank me when you got the time.

The series really isnt "TEH UBERST!!1" as everyone claims it to be, I agree with you there.
| Bait Masterson wrote: | | why do morons always try to find some deeper meaning |
You are correct sir!
But yeah, I think its becasue they are lacking something in real life. Mabie they think if they can uncover the deeper meaning they might be able to do that with other stuff, or some shit.

Cinematic poo.
If you pause to think about it, they wasted alot of time on matters of little consequence whilst leaving a crapload of loose ends all over the place.
For all the dialogue (mostly childlike questions) in this movie, nothing new happened. The obvious ending to the trilogy really was the end lol.

It was ok, but it could have been way better.
I'm glad the final fight with Smith wasn't like the 100 Smith fight in number 2, at least it was truer to the first movie.
The Gun Check fight was retarded.
The flight through that narrow tunnel back to Zion was pretty good.
The machines army was pathetic. In the first movie those squids were really fearsome. In this movie, you've got some s****y ass mechwarrior killing 100's of them at a time. Very unrealistic.

Yeah, the more I think about it... even the dock fight was ubergay.
I mean, the machines wouldn't 'divide and conquer,' coming from all directions, would they? Hell, that would be too easy... just give 'em one huge target to keep pummeling instead!

why dident they just drop explosives down into the dock insted of sending floating squids to hug people? Also I want squids irl with lasers on their heads.

Well, not for you guys. I, on the other hand, have paid my dues and broken the seal to the West gate. The 38th name is LUGALDURMAH, by the way, and his word is ARATAAGARBAL.
Remember that as you flee Armageddon through any open portal you can find, only to perish at his feet.
