Hey All,
Well sine I got laid off from my job I have and my sleep times are now pretty much f****d I catch myself watching it on Cartoon Network. I used to love this cartoon as a kid myself. If you look back it seems that the cartoons were alot cooler on TV then all the gay shit they have now like Teletubies or whatever the f**k they are called.

Actually, I've noticed nearly every toy and cartoon from my childhood is making a comeback now that my generation is having kids. You wanna know why? Because our stuff ruled!
We know that the crap they fed kids born in the mid/late 80s and on was just brutal. My cousins were seething with jealousy everytime I showed them my Transformers 'cause they were stuck with Power Rangers

Akronn, I have noticed that too. Kinda funny overall.
As to this show in particular it was a very cool show, a good on going story arc which you don't see in kids cartoons too often (in the states at least). Wish they would have finished the story...

I'm convinced that it's all coming back because they want to sucker the people who used to watch it into buying it all again because of the memories. Like Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, etc.

The show wasn't canceled, The last episode was stopped becuase some art fart a*****e thought the story shouldn't end. It was the final episode in the ongoing storyline where they get the 13th treasure of Ruel(sp?). Show was awesome, it wasn't too serious, but had a story, interesting characters, fun for kids, you can't expect much more for a state side cartoon aimed at children.

Due to the studio hiring special (and more costly) animators for this series, and because of a lack of popularity, The Pirates of Dark Water was slated to end there, midway through the storyline. However, the creator and producer of the show (David Kirschner and Cos Anzilotti, respectively) fought for continuity, and finally, 8 more were produced the following year and shown during the Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera cartoon block, with the Young Robin Hood series. After the crew had collected 8 of the 13 Treasures throughout the course of these 21 episodes, the series ended, unfinished.
The series never ended. Midway through the second season the show was cancelled and Ren never got a chance to save Octopon. In fact, the second season episodes that were produced yielded so few treasures that these episodes were almost futile. Episodes 14-20 were just as good as the rest, but only 8 treasures were recovered by this point. If the show could have lasted to 26 episodes (2 seasons of 13 episodes), we probably would have seen Octopon regain its glory.

Well shit, I do. SNES kicked ass, almost as much as that gif of the guy getting his ass kicked. There are a bunch of RPGs on SNES that are fun to play still, like FF 2-6, BoF 1/2, Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, SoM, ect.
As far as The Pirates of Dark Water, that show was the pwn. One of the best Saturday morning cartoons of all time. I liked Niddler and Tula and that other funny talking dude. Anyways, yea if that show still came on, I'd
watch it.

Minga-melon
From many episode. Niddler's favorite food (to the point that it's almost an obsession, it sometimes seems ;o) ), and the preferred food of all monkey-birds, it seems. It's a melon with a ridged/whorled (possibly striped?) green exterior, and an orange interior that resembles a canteloupe of some kind.
