Breathe Reprise
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells

Echoes (Waters, Wright, Mason, Gilmour) 23:27
Overhead the albatross
Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
An echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine.
And no one called us to the land
And no one knows the where's or why's.
Something stirs and something tries
Starts to climb toward the light.
Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me.
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand
The best I can.
And no one called us to the land
And no one crosses there alive.
No one speaks and no one tries
No one flies around the sun....
Almost everyday you fall
Upon my waking eyes,
Inviting and inciting me
To rise.
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning.
And no one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky....

I want to tell you a story
About a little man
If I can.
A gnome named Grimble Crumble.
And little gnomes stay in their homes.
Eating, sleeping, drinking their wine.
He wore a scarlet tunic,
A blue green hood,
It looked quite good.
He had a big adventure
Amidst the grass
Fresh air at last.
Wining, dining, biding his time.
And then one day - hooray!
Another way for gnomes to say
Oooooooooomray.
Look at the sky, look at the river
Isn't it good?
Look at the sky, look at the river
Isn't it good?
Winding, finding places to go.
And then one day - hooray!
Another way for gnomes to say
Oooooooooomray.
Ooooooooooooooomray.

A couple.
Im at work, so don't want to go digging at the moment.
How about:
"One of these days"
"San Tropez"
"Fearless"
can't think of more "at the moment". This thread just brought the Meddle album to mind.

Have you really listened to all those? hm? hm? hm?
I'm thinking your comparison is to The Wall, Wish You Were Here, and Dark Side of the Moon.
Again, too lazy / busy to look them up, but how about songs off the Animals album?
One one of the Pigs ones,
(insert lyrics here)
equates to "if you say you dont love me, and I say I dont love you, pigs will fly"
Bleh, Now I gotta go look up lyrics when I get home.
But thanks for the post. I am goin to listen to Lots of Pink Floyd tonight heh.

The local rock station, WNEW 102.7 would do zep/floyd battles just about every other holiday/weekend. Back in the 70s.
I have heard every zep/floyd song 20 bazzilion times.
Always liked Pigs.

LOL One of These Days is one of my favorites, but definately NOT positive. There is only ONE line in the song that says "One of these days
I’m going to cut you into little pieces" HAHAHAHAHA
For the Animals album...possibly...there are 3 songs with pigs in the title, and 3 different songs. Might have to look those up.

Have a Cigar (Waters) 5:24
Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar.
You're gonna go far, fly high,
You're never gonna die,
You're gonna make it if you try;
They're gonna love you.
Well I've always had a deep respect,
And I mean that most sincerely.
The band is just fantastic,
that is really what I think.
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy,
We call it Riding the Gravy Train.
We're just knocked out.
We heard about the sell out.
You gotta get an album out.
You owe it to the people.
We're so happy we can hardly count.
Everybody else is just green,
Have you seen the chart?
It's a helluva start,
It could be made into a monster
If we all pull together as a team.
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy,
We call it Riding the Gravy Train.

Eww. You do James Doohan while listening to it?
And about LSD... Floyd is good music. Just because early on it was more psychedelic, doesn't mean the people have to be to listen to it!

Let There Be More Light
(Waters) 5:38
Far, far, far away - way
People heard him say - say
I will find a way - way
There will come a day - day
Something will be done.
Then at last the mighty ship
Descending on a point of flame
Made contact with the human race
at Mildenhall
Now, now, now is the time - time
Time to be - be - be aware
Carter's father saw him there and
Knew the road revealed to him
The living soul of of Hereward the Wake
Oh, my, something in my eye - eye
Something in the sky - sky
Waiting there for me
The outer lock rolled slowly back
The service men were heard to sigh
For there revealed in glowing robes
Was Lucy in the sky
Oh - oh - did you ever know - know
Never ever will they
I cannot say
Something in his cosmic art
And glowing slightly from his toes
His psychic emanations flowed

Errr...
"Welcome To The Machine"
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
Where have you been? It's alright we know where you've been.
You've been in the pipeline, filling in time,
provided with toys and Scouting for Boys.
You bought a guitar to punish your ma,
And you didn't like school, and you know you're nobody's fool,
So welcome to the machine.
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
What did you dream? It's alright we told you what to dream.
You dreamed of a big star, he played a mean guitar,
He always ate in the Steak Bar. He loved to drive in his Jaguar.
So welcome to the machine.
I don't find that depressing...

you all suck
San Tropez
As I reach for a peach, slide a ride down
behind a chauffeur in San Tropez
breaking a stick with a brick on the sand
riding a wave in the wake of an old sedan
sleeping alone in the drone of the darkness
scratched by the sand that fell from my love
keeping my dreams and I still hear her calling
if you're alone, I'll come home
Backward and homebound, a pigeon, a dove
gone with the wind, the rain on an airplane
owning a home with no silver spoon
I'm drinking champagne like a good tycoon
sooner than wait for a break in the weather
I'll gather my far-flung thoughts together
speeding away on the wind to a new day
if you're alone, I'll come home
And I pause for a while by a country style
and listen to the things they say
digging the gold in a hole in my hand
hoping the good, take a look at the way things end
and you're leading me down to a place by the sea
I hear your soft voice calling to me
making a date for Rita Pavone
if you're alone, I'll come home
