i looked befor i posted actually... didnt see anything on page one with it in the topic... and i wouldnt think a movie that just came out tonite would be on page 2 already =P
but... i am sorry... consider this a bump to a thread i couldnt find ^_^

My guy friend paid for it the first time anyways, as thanks for making all of his reviews for all the tests in political science so that he wouldnt fail. The ticket isnt restricted to only the last samurai either , was wondering if there were any other movies I should consider seeing - Ill probably see samurai though ... just cause it was really really really good and I want to know how it ends :/

The name of the movie is the LAST samurai after all, I wonder what happens...
Great movie. Worth sitting through another 2 and a half hours to see the end. Though it could have been improved if Tom Cruise had jumped up and sliced Omaru's (sp) scalp off, ala Kill Bill.
I guess this post could contain some spoiler information. Oops.

I liked 97% of the movie, but unfortunately they spent a little too much time at the end with the "Tears of Honor" mistake that movies of this sort often make. That is, the orchestra gets loud and we get closeups of everyone with a stoic look on their faces as tears stream down.
Tears of Honor are fine for one shot, but I dare a movie to try it without the strings in the background. I bet it would be far more powerful in silence.
That being said, I want to be a samurai when I grow up, but not the kind that gets killed by army howitzers. I want to be the peaceful Villager Samurai who doesn't have to fight but could if the need arose.
