I was watching some show about movies and the internet and a producer said that the internet community as a whole is more hard on (as in judging if it is good or not) movies and TV shows than when there was no internet.
He said he believe that if movies like Star Wars, and Indian Jones came out today many people would claim they stink, So my question for the realpoor community is do you think the access we have to fact and opinion on the internet has lessened our ability to enjoy things like movies, music and TV?

Typically, when people talk they will talk about the bad points. Look at internet forums concerning video games. Nothing but whining.
The guy has a point. I agree.

When the guy said people would think Star Wars sucked I think I would agree with that. PF was s****y but ROTS was well done.
I really think also people put to much into older moives and tv. I watched ANH, ESB and ROTJ and if i wanted to could find many faults.
It's like Transformers I though it was the best cartoon ever and while it is very good I watched some DVDs of it the other day and must admit that it didn't seam as good as i remembered.

If Star Wars came out when the internet was around people would just mock the s****y CGI.

The newest Transformers cartoon is total ass. Atleast the intro has mostly the same lyrics as the original transformers series although it's different music.

I guess it depends on how much weight you place on mostly total strangers' opinions. We used to read reviews in the newspaper and learn about movies through hearsay, ie: friends that saw them before we did.
I knew that some of my friends had the same tastes I did--and some didn't. So, I knew who to listen to about a movie or a book and whose opinion to dismiss.
Here, it's a lot harder (for me, anyway). I do look, for instance, on this forum when a new movie comes out that I am interested in seeing. Since at least some of us share the same interests, subject-wise, I'm inclined to go see a movie even more if the people here praise it.

I use the internet for shopping, getting fast facts, and busting balls here. Thats about it.
I have never listened to any of the movie "critics" people.
They are all liberal scumbags anyway. Who cares what they think.

Seems like most online reviews are the few who have seen it, and 99 others that find ways to reword already posted reviews, before they actually see it.

RP is the perfect example of this guys case. You could post about world peace and equality for everyone, and someone would have an argument about it.

The problem is most people are too scared to have their own opinion on subjects because they are afraid they may say/do something that is uncool or will offend somebody. Listening to other peoples comments on what you should and should not do ( i.e. go watch a certain movie or not ) shows you are a person i just described above.
Learn to make up your own mind. so you are out 10 bucks if you see a bad movie. oh well. get over it. If you are that concerned about losing 10 bucks then just dload the movie or rent it.
Most critics are full of shit anyway. They watch movies to analyze them, not to enjoy them. Just go watch a f*****g movie if the preview interests you.
