For anyone else who might be at all excited about this

http://www.stephenking.com/darktower.pdf

That is the first 8 pages of the book, prolly wont mean anything to anyone who hasnt read the first 7 so if you read this dont base your judgement of the series from this (as amazing as it is to someone who has read the rest) Start from the begining.

f*****g crazy I can't wait untill this book is released.

Re-reading the series now myself. I read the first 3 books, when I was in High-School over 10 years ago, been a bit. Forgot how awsome Roland is, still p****d he lost his fingers on his right hand!! Reading the 4th book right now, Roland was even kick a*s as a 14 year old.

Awsome set of books, can see how King grew up, from the first book which was writen by someone young and brash to someone who now is just one of the best authers out there in my eyes.

Holy f*****g shit...

I honestly had no clue that King connected all his books to the Dark Tower. Okay see this is f*****g amazing, plain and simple. I have a few of his other books that I havn't read, guess I will give them a go after I finish the Dark Tower series.

Man oh man... That is just awsome. Still some things I dont' understand is the importance of "19". I am only on book 4 in the Dark Tower, guessing that I will find out more when I go on with the series. I stopped after book 4 cause I thought he would never finish the series. Then about a month ago I walked into Waldens and saw book 6. So it got my interest in reading the series over again.

Put *spoilers* on topic of this thread, if you don't mind. I had planned on reading the books but didn't know, or want to know, a very likeable guy loses his fingers. Thanks!

In regards to a possible "It" connection: "Also, Stan says that "In this universe there might grow roses which sing," (It p411) which alludes to the Rose in the vacant lot."

I doubt that one. In that passage, Stan is talking about how the sight of dead boys walking offended his logical mind. Offenses like "a square moon that rises in the sky", "some triangles that have four sides", and the aforementioned roses that could sing.

Those are all things that might drive you crazy if you saw them, such as Stan's dead boys.

king's dark tower has been the nexus of basically all his novels and characters for the last 15 years or so. everything ties into it somehow (even if the reference is only mild, to keep the storylines intentionally disparate). i've read everything he's written, most of them 3-4 times each... and the Dark Tower series itself has held my attention tighter than everything else. needless to say i'm eagerly awaiting the rest of it =)
