they aint bullshittin about setting it to -1 giving a huge performance boots. makes the gfx look like eq quality tho =p

I do most of my playing like this just so it's smoother and the mem leak doesn't seem to affect me as quickly either. I can play with it on, but I lose a few fps, enough to where I just don't find it as enjoyable.
