I was cleaning out my hard drive today and I was wondering what the hell was taking up so much room under my Documents and Settings folder. Well I was able to open up my Temporary Internet folder and see close to 3 gigs worth of crap in there. Well I went through and deleted as much of the folder as I could. Well all that is said and done and I know have 2.7 gigs in the damn folder with only 4 text files left in the folder, all 1k big.
Is their any way to see the hidden 2.7 gigs of data I have in that folder so I can delete and it make more room on my C Drive. I have less then a gig left on the drive and I would like to fix this issue.
Please any advise would be great, thank you all.

Tools -> Internet Options
Then delete files/cookies/history
from there you can also change how much space it takes up via settings.

Hello All,
Well I changed the location of the folder and the 2.7gigs of "hidden" used space just vanished. Was weird as hell, but hell it worked. Moved it back to the old location and seems that I have alot of free space now back on my OS/Software drive. Weird shit.

Internet explore saves a "copy" of every image/website you goto for faster viewing times on dailup. Good idea to clear it out every week => month or just turn it off.

Hello All,
Yeah I had it set at 300megs which really isn't anything it was the 2.7k gigs of invisable data that had me a bit freaked out. Still love Windows, move the damge location and the 2.7gigs just vanishes....

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR LOG ON NAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
in XP stores all the files, my folder currently has 23k files =P
When you "moved" it, It was prolly just deleted.
I find it really interesting =)
I'm sure it is one of the ways the FBI gets evidence on people for shit.

Hello All,
Yeah have to make sure you enable "Show Hidden Folders/Files". Was the way I found it when I was searching for it. One of the things if someone wasn't interested in keeping up to date with their hard drive space which I am. Freaking amazing at times, makes one wonder.
Just right click on your "Name" and check how much those 23 files are in space. Mine like I said was freaking huge.
