I'm installing EQ on my laptop so I can take it with me next week on a trip....I have installed it on here before, but removed it. Now, after installing it again, I can't run the patcher. It says there is a missing or corrupted file on the update server, and tosses me out.
That error message also says something like patch.everquest.com7000.
Any ideas? I have uninstalled and reinstalled--same error. Patch server is working just fine on our desktops.

edit: I should say that I installed all discs through PoP

Someone else had that problem recently too.
I think it was because of old patchers being changed or something?
Copy try copying your everquest.exe and eqgame.exe from your comps to the laptop and run it. Maybe it will update correctly.

I would search thier forums for tech help as I am sure it has happened before and if i recall correctly, the forums are actually pretty useful for this stuff

try using the patcher on the everquest website, i had to for a while.... i was getting the same thing of course then you can't get maps or anything .... but you could also install off their shit

I just copied the files from the desktop, as Okami suggested, and the never-ending patching is still going on LOL
