Right now I have a Radeon 9600 with S-Video TV out. Thankfully, I can turn it on in the drivers and have everything be output my desktop. They also have an option I'm in love with, which takes everything rendered to the "Overlay" and only outputs that to the TV.
I'm thinking of upgrading to the GeForce 6600GT AGP, but I have some questions before I do. The card does have S-Video TV out, but I haven't used an nvidia card since my GeForce 2 days. Does it have the above option to only display the overlay to the TV and does it also output everything.
Hell, with my Radeon, from the second I boot up it outputs to the TV. I f*****g love that.

Goto display settings, click on monitor 2 and check "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor". then go back to device 1 and uncheck "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor".

I think you can with nVidia cards, but don't quote me on that because it has been a long time since I have messed with it.
The only problem with TV out is the quality on most cards is pretty crummy.

as long as you use DVI or Component connections the quality is fantastic
svideo is only viable if you have an old analog tv
using a aiw 9800pro component out with a res of 720x480 the quality is as good as a standalone dvd player.

I don't care too much about the quality, because my 27" TV only has S-Video and Component, and the component is used by my DVD player.
I basically just want a way to have movies playing in the background, and having them output directly to my TV. That way I can browse, IM, etc while watching movies.
