but it's a very complicated formula!
"You get the point spread by taking one teams win record and subract it from the other teams."
"how do you pick who wins?"
"Easy. The ones with the fanciest helmet wins."
"I bet all my money because you like their helmest?!?"

If Seattle can can compensate Pittsburgh's blitz packages (which they have a good shot at doing considering their o-line and pro bowl fullback), they'll win.

They shut down Delhomme and Smith in the playoffs, Roethlisberger and Ward shouldn't scare them.

The blitz package isnt all of it though. I mean look at Palumalu (sp?). He is a one man everything on defense. The pittsburgh secondary can shut any passing game down in no time flat. And their D-Line will shut down Alexander np im thinking.

Pittsburgh is gonna win im thinking. They want it more at this time and they are playing like it. 6 road games and 6 wins. They want it bad. It will be a great game though. I cant wait. Gonna be a rough game too.

I think detroit's artificial turf is a big Seattle advantage (considering their mediocre receivers), but all things considered the Steelers are a better team and are playing inspired football. Their defense is so hungry.

Steelers should have it

they have a tough D and their offense has been doing great recently, plus they really really want it- as long as they dont have injuries or s***w up i think they'll win

I know we're all entitled to our own opinion, and I'm a little biased being from Washington. But I have to disprove some of these comments.

You think the Seahawks don't want it as badly? Their first Super Bowl appearance in their franchise's history, and you can bet they want to capitalize on it. I can't believe any one team at this point want its more than the other. This is what teams play all year for... its just not realistic to be under that impression. As far as playing like they want it more... outside of a meaningless game, Seattle has won 13 in a row. If thats not playing well I don't know what is.

Quote:

While I agree turf may be a Seattle advantage, as some of the remaining players played in the Kingdome. But saying their receivers are mediocre is laughable. Darrell Jackson had better numbers than Steve Smith at the point that he was injured. Was among the league leaders in near all receiving categories (granted, it was only after 4 games, but still). Engram doesn't put up a lot of numbers but he's been a solid possession receiver year after year. Jurevicius is a bigger version of Engram with even better hands, and stepped up big when both the #1 and 2 receivers (Jackson, Engram) were injured. I fail to see how these players are mediocre. Sure none of them are huge names like Hines Ward or Steve Smith, but don't dismiss them quite yet. Jackson alone will probably surprise many of the doubters.

Not disagreeing with these points. All season long I felt the Steelers offense was underrated as many looked at them strictly as a running team. I've felt they have some solid receivers and personally I enjoy watching Hines Ward play.

But these same points can be said for Seattle. They don't have a big name on defense, but as of their first playoff game this year, they finally have their entire secondary healthy and despite that they've been getting better by the week all year. With the lack of media attention they've been flying under the radar and week after week critics are silenced. As far as the offense goes, I don't think that needs too much explanation, but they have been in a rhythm for the better portion of the year (see: 13 wins in 14 games).

I'm not saying the Seahawks have it in the bag, but neither do the Steelers. They play these games for a reason. It should be a good game as they're almost evenly matched across the board.
