I hate Sun. I hate Sun's Java. No, I f*****g hate Sun's java. There we go. Much better!

For a good time, go to: http://www.xplanner.org/install.html

Try installing this on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 7) machine. Keep detailed notes and give them to me and I'll give you $5.

Xplanner, MySQL, Ant, and Tomcat are all made by people other than Sun...

Yes sir that's correct. However, please enjoy the process of installing Java on a Red Hat machine?

Hail, traveller! How may I aide thee? Are you interested in [Java]?

I'd like to install Java.

Very well! Are you interested in J2EE 1.4 SDK, JDK 5.0 Update 6 with NetBeans 4.1 Bundle, J2SE, JXTA, Java EE 5, POJOs, GlassFish, JDK 5.0 Update 6 (no Netbeans), JRE 5.0 Update 6, or perhaps a huge disambiguation project? LOL! Well man what do you want? I mean you can't just get the java binary any more!!111 lol!!!

That's what I use, it has the jvm... I will agree that Sun's site sucks balls, as does their versioning convention (J2EE 1.4 = JDK 1.5 = Java 5.0!). I'm not really a Java fanboi, though this thread probably makes it seem otherwise.

Couple years ago I did my first reformat since putting XP on my home computer. I'd always used the MS java that comes along with the MS updates, never had a problem with it. Now I don't see it there anymore, I do searches, only to find that sun has leagaly cockblocked MS from distributing it.

Fine, I go DL the latest java from sun, It totaly f***s with my display when it runs. Everything gets all fuzy and the colors go off just slightly. Worst of all it only runs newer java apps, anything writin in an older version, is all garbled and fekked.

So after a more thorough search, I come up with download off some random site for disused software of the oroginal MS java. Uninstalled the sun one and put the MS stuff back on, never had a problem again, viewing old shit or new.

That is why I hate sun java! That and their autoupdater now sticks on a f*****g Yahoo search bar.

It would be worse if Microsoft was doing it. At least Sun's software usually works. It's just their site and their product management that drives me up a freakin wall.
