Did they change the entire team or something from 3 on? The first two were amazing, and then after that they weren't even worth picking up imo.

As far as Star Ocean goes, I think the ending dragged on WAY too long. Also, dying by MP loss f*****g sucked. Other than that I enjoyed it. The soundtrack is superb and was my study music tonight.
The other games I agree with, and I'm sure anyone with any sort of compassion (that they're willing to admit) would have too. Just because a game puts feeling and emotion into its formula doesn't mean it's a nancy-boy only title. If you guys had actually played through FFX you would see that Tidus grows up over the course of the game. The ending is my #2 favorite of all time right under Metal Gear Solid 3.
I will also add the following:
Final Fantasy 9
Kingdom Hearts
Vagrant Story
Disgaea
Makai Kingdom
Dark Cloud 2
Baten Kaitos
Radiata Stories
ICO
and one most people missed out on because of lack of hardcore friends:
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - To this day I have never seen a game require more teamwork than this did, and it was done to perfection. What the game lacked in story it more than made up for in gameplay.

True, I really hated death by MP loss. I can see how the view would arise that it adds a level of strategy to the game, but I completely disagree with that view. It was just a lame way to get killed.
I havent played Radiata Stories yet since it just came out. I will be picking up it once the price comes down. I need to get Baten Kaitos as well. I would love to play Disgaea but I am not paying $50 bucks for a game that has been out almost 2 years.

First off, I liked 3. The way the graphics were done allowed the characters a ton of expression (which adds depth because you know what they're feeling).
Suikoden 4 was one of the worst rpgs I've ever played. It was short, which p****d me off, because you don't have time to draw any attachments to characters, the graphics sucked, the music sucked, your mom sucked, etc.
To answer someone else's question, yes, there was a different team for Suikoden 4 and the second half of Suikoden 3. The original developer quit midway through 3.
As to Suikoden 5 and Suikoden Tactics, they can't possibly be as bad as 4, so I'm looking forward.
-----------------------------
And finally! I hope eventually every rpg hero is a naked, long-haired, androgynous male with giant blue eyes who whines/broods his way through the game.

I just can't get into them. If I'm going to farm mindless NPCs to "skill up" then I might as well do it in a PvP game online where I can at least go grief people 40 levels lower than me.

"I HATE YOU"
Yeah, that ending sure was something great! He sure did become lovable with all his angst! He sure did grow up!
Yeah, if I want an angsty story, I'll read Catcher in the Rye again. If I want a s****y RPG with a s****y main character, I'll play FFX all over again.

Well, there's little to no farming in the Suikoden games. You don't have to farm unless you like having all of the characters at an uber level.

Many games are getting away from that. Shadow Hearts II for instance has little to no farming assuming you are fighting in all the random battles (Which are not nearly as frequent as in the past).
7th Saga is still, in my mind, the game that makes you level up the most of any RPG I have ever played. 75% of the game is spent doing nothing but leveling. Damn I hated that game.

get an emulator with a speed button like ZSNES and just hold it down while you level with a button set to turbo for B and leveling in 7th Saga is EZ as pie.
Still a f*****g hard game though.

I get ridiculed for what I like to read all the time. And I haven't a single problem with that or, if the case might have it, throwing some of my own right back their way.
The wording used to show my distaste for these games was indeed poor, but, I think you know enough about my person that it was said in all good fun; it's my assumption that you were given to posting this for more than one reason, one possibly being that you yourself enjoy the aforementioned games--the other that I chose a real dimwitted, common, Realpoorian way of saying it.
That being said, there's a reason Kerouac and Camus are taught in schools and The Sorrows of Young Tidus is not. Maybe if he were to have kicked a Blitzball while the sun assailed his eyes, killing an Al'Bed in the process? Ah, it's all speculation therein.

To be honest I stopped playing console games around the time I started playing EQ. I know nothing of any of these games they're talking about. The last Suikoden I played was I, and the last FF I played was VIII. So, no.. I don't know what they're talking about any more than I know about Kerouac.
However, I do know that people will generally (not always, mind you) do what they like doing, and putting their likes down just because it didn't appeal to you is a hopeless endeavor.
I guess what I'm trying to say is :
I HAPPEN TO LIKE MY LITTLE PONY. DO YOU WANT TO f*****g MAKE SOMETHING OF IT, b***h?
-Nah-
