| Quote: | | Designed specifically with new users in mind, this side story to January's Suikoden IV is one of the most accessible role-playing games of the year (traditional or otherwise) -- and while it most certainly doesn't have the plotline or mechanical chops to compete with 2005's other genre heavyweights, it does have a couple of cool little features worth mentioning... even if it is rather thin. |
Side story to the uninteresting Suik IV. Most accessible. Little plotline (of a bad plotline to begin with).
Three strikes, their out. III, IV and Tactics. There's no hope.
The only person who will like this is Jakanden. Let's make fun of him beforehand.

Dear Konami,
PLEASE STOP MAKING SUIKODENS UNTIL YOU RE-HIRE THE SAME f*****g GUYS WHO MADE SUIKODEN 1 AND 2.
Love,
Finigan
P.S. please kill the fucknobs who made this Suikoen 3/4/tacitcs, and also their families.

I liked Suikoden III, hated IV, not sure how Tactics will be. Hopefully V (already in development!) won't suck.

I don't even need to get out my magic-8 ball to tell you it will, in fact, suck.

How much would it cost to re-hire the developers of the old game?
For f**k's sake. Don't perpetuate s****y games by buying them.

Well, Gethy, lol, you see, Konami, like other companies, probably judges the quality of its products by how many they sell.
What they should do instead is check the price of their previous games to see which ones the people liked the most and why.

I was very angry in this thread. But it's for good reason. Suikoden I/II were such amazing games, filled with everything a console RPG should have.
Oh well.

Btw, Suikoden Tactics is f*****g awesome. The story fills in some of the gigantic holes from Suikoden 4, and the new music is great. The voice-acting isn't too distracting, the avatars are top-notch (as usual), and the battle system is pretty good.

At least rent the f*****g game. You can beat it in 15 hours or 75 depending on how much work you want to put into it. The story is pretty good. If you think of it as a sequel to Suikoden IV, it finally makes for a full story.

I got it. I like it enough. Simplified game play and not a big emphasis on anything but core game mechanics.
Makes me think that I'd like Suiko 4 a lot more if they kept the in-depth fighting engine that was in Suiko 3. And makes me think that Suiko 3 wasn't awful--not nearly 1/2 quality, but not bad.
But, dude, Suiko 4 as a whole was no good. This helps it out a bit storywise.
