Thottbot is awfully out of date. Rumor is Thottbot is abandoning it because Prima whined that it's killing their sales of strategy guides. In any case, it has data of about 3 weeks ago.
Sadly, Allakhazam has a better site now. They use the same type of data gathering. It's just slower to load and it doesn't have the stats pop up on items that thottbot had.

And once thottbot dies they'll start charging you to view the content that you helped create.
Also the fact that thottbot shows how many mobs were killed to get the % chance to drop from monsters is infinitely more useful than allakhazam's system where it could have been killed five times and dropped the item once and then have a listed drop rate of 20%, that's sure reliable.

More likely his server wasn't prepared for the onslaught.

When data is uploaded to Thottbot, it's placed in a queue and processed as fast as possible. During beta, data was processed within seconds.
Now so much data is being uploaded that the import engine is 60 hours behind. As a temporary measure, target profiles are being discarded by the engine, and it is slowly catching up. Even so, it will likely be days before profile updates happen quickly. |

Not really. Thottbot and Allakhazam are only reading the lua files more or less, anybody can create their own readers, it doesn't take a genious. Streaming it to the website is the more interesting part.

Actually, Allakhazam also shows mobs number of kills, and they are usually higher than Thottbot's numbers
Don't get me wrong, I prefer Thottbot, since Allakhazam is slow and a pay site at the root, but once you get around the 45+ stuff, there's nothing anymore on Thottbot, especially instances.
The Goblin Workshop had a promising layout and interface too, but it's not being updated either.
