Well....there are definately a couple obvious choices, but you are gunna sub something later on. You really can't go wrong, unless it's something like a galkaa mage.
The obvious choice for Blm is Taru, without a doubt they have massive manapools even if they take hits like sacks of wheat. Some people say the obvious one for Whm is a toss between Taru/Elv but my preference personaly was Hume for a middle ground with HP/mana.
There are races that make the "best" of a particular job, but since you can toss subjobs/switch mainjobs etc around until you find what you like you really have a wide open range of things to choose from and can't really go wrong picking the race you like.

Mithra is 2nd best WHM, because it has highest defense and equal or greater MP than Elv/Hume, MND really means nothing since you cap heals pretty fast anyway and hume have less varied stats so less def. Plus it's a **** cat.
