It's never too late I started playing in Febuary over a year ago, just as TBC was coming out, now with WOTLK coming in a few months I'd say it's the perfect time to start, and be ready with a nicely prepared 70 to bump up to 80 Wink DK ftw (deathknight Razz )

It is never to late to start playing this game. You can solo all the way to max level. Plus you can get decent gear by playing the bgs which will help you be competitive with people who have been playing for years.

it's a pretty good time if you ask me. by the time WOLTK comes out you should have a good idea what the game is all about and then it's going to change complely but be a hell of alot more fun.

You should be able to get to 70 before the WotLK comes out ^^
Should enjoy it, you can start at any time and you will enjoy it.

You'll have fun, but you'll pretty much be blocked from a lot of the higher level instances, such as Black Temple, unless you grind 24/7 for a few months, get really lucky and really good at the same time.

The bad part about this game is that sure everyone can get gear, but only a select few will get into the higher level dungeons to get the best gear. While everyone can be powerful, the amount of good gear you have dictates how much farther you can go, along with a good group.

So, if you're a great player, know your class inside and out, there's still a slim to none chance you'll get into a top guild on the server unless you know someone. If you're not all about experiencing everything in the game and just playing it once in awhile to have fun, I definitely recommend it, it's very easy to pick up and learn, hard to master, and while it can be frustrating at times, what game isn't, honestly?

Only problem with starting this late is there are few people in starting zones. You will miss out on a lot of the instances leading to the higher levels due to sparse population at those levels. It can still be a fun game, its just unfortunate blizzard outdated the best content in the game with BC.

never too late to start WoW....
The thing is that when you'll hit 70, you might have troubles if you plan to pvp right off the bat... you'll need to farm BGs for weeks before you can get some decent resilience gear...
just my 2 cents

Its never too late, It's too easy to level up from 20-60 now. You can be 70 within two weeks of hardcord playing, but if you spend a medium amount of time, it'll only take a month.

no its not too late to start playing. You have increased exp lvls to look forward to since a couple of patches ago.

Theres still many guilds trying to break into the lower lvl raid instances like karazhan etc.

Most importantly there is a new expansion coming in the next few months and you'll find yourself in the same position as every other player from day one of that.

As others have said, its never too late, getting to 70 has been made easier in the last few months in preparation for release of the next expansion pack. That being said if you have any raiding aspirations, GOOD LUCK. You might be better of starting on a relatively new server if that is your goal because most raiding guilds who make any progress at all require a baseline set of gear which can be difficult for a new player to attain. If raiding isnt your thing though then create a character anywhere.

Never to late but if you want to start on a more level playing field you might consider playing Age of Conan. If your computer can handle it that is.
