Sony makes movies - Microsoft doesn't. Paramount previously announced they would back Microsoft with HD-DVD, but changed their stance and announced to also back Sony's Blu-Ray.
Sucks for microsoft, especially since the Xbox 360 doesn't support blu-ray. (it doesn't support HD-DVD either, but it will in future releases according to this article

I'm all for seeing Bill Gates getting kicked in the nuts whenever possible. I can't stand that he's trying to dominate the gaming industry, and even more arrogant, he thinks he can dictate what hardware gets used simply because he supplies an O/S? He better be careful. If he p****s off the computer manufacturers and someone comes along with an O/S that's similar but cheaper or easier on hardware, Microsoft could find itself with *gasp* competition!

give it about 5 years when Vista has some huge security flaw that flaw that turns everyone away from Microsoft

I'm not sure I can play WoW on linux. I've heard that a major knock against Linux is that it doesn't have support for a lot of drivers and can't play games. I do love it's rock-solid reliability and lack of invisible forcefield to protect me from myself.
