Read the Subject. It says it best. Sony Online Entertainment needs to wake up and smell the coffee. They're losing customers at an alarming rate. I personally think they're diving into the electronics funds to keep this active. Then again, I guess only the die hard fans of EQ, SWG or MO are what's keeping this franchise active. Rather than adjust content to the consumers preference, they want to create new games. Pirates of the Burning Sea is an example. This is nothing more than an attempt to milk money out of the now "love for Pirates" theme that the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies have sparked in customers. Certain games just shouldn't be made. Star Wars Galaxies, Matrix Online, EQ I & II, all the other titles. They need to work on active, entertaining products to get customers to want to pay for their products, or my guess is, they're going to go bankrupt in the next 5 years.

I also agree that they seem to make the games that are based off popular movies that are going around now. They really need to go focus on the games they have now instead of making more problems for them selves.

Voted for 3. Although i think the problem is they dont put enough resources into pc gaming to make it a strong corner-hold of their business. They are pretty spread out in terms of what they do. Almost every electronic item has a brand with sony's name on it, but they arent really top of the list. Agreed on PotBS, it looks cheap and tacky and looks just like a typical SOE game.
If they would just focus on gaining a better foot-hold on their electronics first, then pile more resources into the pc gaming industry and splash the cash on deals with reputable developers they may actually make a great game in the next 10 years.
