No kidding. It seems if you're scum enough to rob and murder a woman at gunpoint why would you have anything holding you back from robbing your comrades of trust for some extra money? |
Why do you think the homocide rate in NYC was over 2k in 97ish.
The animals always find reasons to kill each other.

I dunno, sometimes those kinds of people will turn their backs on eachother, but often not without some kind of reason like htey're beefing over something. cause in the end eachother is all they really have, and in that line of work you can imagine you want somebody you trust watching your back. not surprised they dont just rat eachother out. plus if you know you got ratted out, and by who (or at least 1 of a few) then he better hope you dont make bail

1. Carrying a gun in this situation would have done nothing. They shot her as soon as she opened her mouth, do you think if a man pulled a gun they would not shoot him?
2. Gun laws are meant to prevent honest responsible people from carrying guns. Do criminals respect gun laws? Whats the point in having gun laws if criminals already break the laws. You're just imposing laws on non criminals.
3. If more people carried guns, armed robbery rates would drop. Are you going to hold up a gas station clerk knowing that a customer might be packing a .45? Did you know that in most states its legal to use deadly force when a felony is in progress? This includes armed robbery.

I can safely assume you have never lived in NYC. NY is called the city that never sleeps for a reason. In Manhattan, virtually all bars are open until 4am, as are the corner stores (24 hrs), pizzerias other late night food places. NY is not like other towns where everything shuts down at 2am. It is quite common practice for the under 35 singles/childless crowd to be out until 3 or 4am most weekend nights. The "clubs" are open until sunrise or later. The area the attack occurred in has plenty of people around on the streets at 3am on a weekend.
This girl was just a dumb b***h. If someone mugs you, you shut the f**k up and give them what they want.

You can have 18 million people walking around at 3am, but that doesn't change the fact that it is 3am.

There is no crime in any other city Occulis? Your lovely adopted home of Houston is full of gangs and crime. The rural hick towns of your native West Virginia and the rest of the South are full of Mexican immigrant gangs and methamphetamine labs and OxyContin addicts. NY ranks near the BOTTOM of the 50 largest cities for major crime statistics, believe it or not. Ever since Guiliani crime has been plummeting in NYC and the trend has continued under Bloomberg.
You call NY the gutter? haha - you ignorant, southern sack of shit. NY is the capital of the world, the premier city for culture and finance. The density of museums, cultural institutions, and business in Manhattan is unrivaled. There is no more exciting city in the world, full of opportunity.
Maybe it is just too much for an idiot like you to handle. You better stick to the South where things move at a slower pace and you can survive with an IQ of 85. Where you are actually considered witty, rather than simply not funny.
to others: my apologies for the rant, but when someone like Dumb calls NY the sewer, it hits a nerve - I don't mean to slam the South overall, just to this idiot

If a robber thought that anyone he robbed was likely to have a gun, instead of walking up to someone and saying "give your money or I'll shoot you", wouldn't he be more likely to step up behind them, shoot them in the back of the head and take their wallet? It turns it into murder, but I don't know that that would stop a lot of people. It obviously didn't stop these guys.

In the city, bklyn, queens, the bronx, SI, nassau, suffolk, the bars can stay open to 4am if they want. Many lock the door after 4k, and keep serving to regulars until they go home. Most diners are 24/7, many stores are 24/7, even the fast food joints are open past 3am ish in my part of town.

well said lol - but I would still say the slums of 3rd world cities (Mexico City anyone?) are a hell of a lot worse than NYC, or even a shithole like Detroit
on a side note, I went to the Frick Museum on Saturday with my girlfriend - unreal house, a former private residence on 70th and 5th Ave on the park. Frick was a steel baron and donated his residence and art collection after he died, really beautiful collection and it is small enough that you can go for 1-2 hours and see it all. I highly recommend it to anyone in NY, and it is just 1 example of why NY owns

I disagree.
The shitholes in mexico don't have the murder rates that Bklyn has. Short of a war zone, I think Bed Stuy/east NY bklyn is worse.
I worked security at frick, swatch was doing a major show there.

so Kbarr I was having a tough time deciding which was more impressive?
the art collection at the Frick (I really loved some of the sculptures)
or
the actual house itself?
Could you imagine having a place like that in Manhattan today? I bet if the Frick were sold it would fetch somewhere upwards of $200 million dollars, if not well beyond. 3 floors of an apartment building on 5th that Murdoch bought went for 44 million, this is a 3 story single dwelling, with rather large gardens, etc.

Sorry Scrabler, but I find a classic sculpture or painting a lot more impressive than watching some cars go round and round a track at a NASCAR race. Real art that looks like something that is, not the horseshit that is known as modern art where 2 circles and a square represent the struggle between good and evil.
Culture also includes places like the Museum of Natural History, which has a massive collection of medieval armor and weapons - surely you would find that interesting.
