I know there is a way to disable images on a single website and not any others. There are 2 forums I have ungodly lag trying to open at work, Realpoor and my EQ guild forum. If I disable images then they download fine, but it makes a lot of other sites pretty much unuseable. I don't know what's causing the problem, but disabling images on those two sites would be good enough for a temporary solution.
I know you can do this, but how? Also if anyone knows what might be causing this problem please post. I can get to the forum indexes, but when I try to open any post it either straight locks up or lags for 5 minutes before opening the page. Other phpbb forums like the steel warrior or EQCleric don't have this problem. Only happens at work, so I assume it's something that our firewall here doesn't like.

I had something similar to this happen. When I'm at work, I just disable all images. That way the only NWS I have to worry about is large sized profanity from Spink. When I'm at home, I get occasional lag and I found out it was caused by icq.com. Everytime you load a thread, it loads something from icq.com.
Can you download Mozilla Firefox and use it on your work machine? If so, I believe you just right click the image and choose "block all images from blobbynet.com or whatever".

Edit the file at:
%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
And add the site you want 'blocked' to the 127.0.0.1 line.

Thanks. I dunno what the problem is. I found a little program though called Toggle Images.exe that I can make a link hotkey too to turn images on and off with a button press, so that works for now.
Thanks for the responses.
