Thought I'd capture a little bit of mother nature last night. This is a picture from my backyard.
and..

I get thoes same looking sunsets about once a week where I live in California. I belive the reason its pink/purple over here is the smog, I live in the bay area. Onetime the sun was deep purple during the sunset. If I can find the picture I took ill post it.

very nice pictures .. I was in photography for 1 full year. It was loads of fun , i really like that art of photos . I wish i had a scanner to show some of my work ..

No, pollution would be thick black clouds. You wouldn't be able to see a sunset through all the smog.

Been snowing off and on all day here too (metro Detroit), probably a few inches on the ground already. My parents called from northern Michigan and they said they're getting 8-10 inches this weekend

ya we get some pretty awesome sunset and rises here, in spring ya get more purple hues and in fall greenish.
i live out in the country too so its nice and clear for star viewing at night not alot of city lights screwin it up.
ill see if i cant dig up some old photos of a sunset from above. by that i mean i was above on a cliff and the sun set was below in the valley *was like a bowl type thing*.
the mist/fog filled the valley and ya could only see teh top half of the trees and the sun setting behind them lit the sky up to amazing hues and shades of red the sun itself looks like a dark orange glowing ball, it rocked much will dig it up if i can find it.
also have some of a sun rise at a rock quary and sun sets out in the field with the horses, those pics own
