Just wondering... I've read the reviews and I'm just wondering what some of you have thought of it.. I won't be seeing it until the 7pm showing tonight so I can't contribute yet.

Well, this movie sucked mucho arse. The fight scenes were decent, but the storyline failed.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest...I give it a 3.

It was great, but not in a Braveheart kind of way. It was just a way cool movie! What's better than revenge and swords?

The anime sequence was unexpected and rocked, the fight scenes were great, and the dialogue colorful.

Once again, Tarrantino proves that he is the master of juxtaposition! Uma Thurman and Vivica Fox looked like ninja housewives or something, and I absolutely loved the Gogo character! A hot little japanese schoolgirl that's crazy and whoops ass.

Anyways, like I said, it's not good the way Braveheart or Godfather kind of way, but it was hella cool.

Ok well now that the shock is wearing off a b it and I've been able to think about it a bit I do have a very big fundamental problem with the Bride and her motivations.

She was an ASSASSIN. She killed people for money or for other people's ends. So she wanted out and decided to "turn over a new leaf" so what? Does that make everything she did and what she stood for ok?

What did she tell Vernita Green when she was doing nothing short of pleading for her life? She called her pathetic, to not wave her daughter in front of her like a flag because it doesn't change anything.

Isn't that kinda f****d up? What justification does an ASSASSIN, a cold-blooded KILLER have in exacting revenge on others when they do to her exactly what she used to do to them?

at my theatre, when she is in the house with the black woman, when the black woman says her name (or whatever it was), it got censored.

was this part of the movie?

all those other people were assassins too or whatever they were, who knows why they killed her, and who she was getting married too, etc, etc, etc.

It was a collaboration of elements that made other shows an movies unique... that's all really.

B-movie gore, A low quality 15 minute anime segment for the anime fans, a weepy "lost my baby but oh wait!" story-line for those who like soaps, and Katanas and Japanese subtitles for those who like the whole samurai angle.

In my opinion, Kill Bill was a man appealing to pop culture using little to no originality...

My younger brother came out of the theater saying it was Kenshin fighting coreographed baddly, Army of Darkness Gore, Cowboy Bebop plot (change the relationship between Spike and Julia), and Charlies Angels thrown in for fanservice, and a Trilogy to keep up with the other big hits out now.

Seriously, if the movie had continued along the way that it started and strayed from appealing to everyones favorite genres I would have liked it ... the first ten minutes were great ... but it didn't ...

Oh by the way, unless you're retarded, the cliffhanger at the end was blatantly obvious.

It killed two hours of my life, I'll give it that, however, it also took twelve dollars of my money. Go on cheap night or wait for the video, but aside from the hype it's got no more to offer than something like House of the Dead, the difference being that HotD isn't trying to be more than a B-movie.

Well, you either like Tarrantino or you don't. It's hard to be lukewarm about his movies.

Yes, it was an homage. Yes, the plot was pretty simple. But the characters are so cool that it doesn't really matter. His movies are always about the characters. The plot comes secondary.

It's really an excercise in style.

I wanted to not like it, but in the end, I thought it was really good.

Her name gets censored out a couple times in the movie, im not sure why, maybe we aren't supposed to know her as anything but "The Bride"

I agree. If you are complaining about the story, you missed the point. I thought it was awesome.

Hah thats exactly why I am avoiding this movie for a while, so many people seem to think he is the best director of all time, instead of someone who just takes a slice of all kinds of movies/pop culture/fashion/music and blends them all together into a somewhat disjointed story.

Jackie Brown IMO was by far his best movie.

To the elderly and middle aged couples that left the movie during the O-ren Origin and the battle with the Crazy 88:

What the f**k did you think the movie was about when you bought the tickets?? Let's see. It's a sword movie directed by Tarrantino. I bet it will be like Driving Miss Daisy and On Golden Pond...but better!

Morons.
