Theres some info in another thread. There is no reason to spill more. I think it's better than WoW but it's not leaps ahead.
I think it will come down to a coke/pepsi decision between EQ2 and WoW. There's no point saying anything else becuase the only way to make that decision is by playing.

So how is combat? Is it gritty or clumsy? From reading the combat descriptions on the FAQ it seems almost like FFXI combat without the speed decrease and lock on

Watched a friend play today and honestly it is the best looking game out or coming out right now. I diddn't get a chance to play but he made a a new guy and went through the tutorial and the island of refuge thingy for me. Spell effects are top notch combat actually looks cool. The only thing I noticed was that at least high elves run like they have a stick up their ass. You can tell what mobs are kos now with a red border around their name. It tells you the monsters mana and hp now. You have a quest log and a completed quest log. The starter room thing is actually pretty large and naturually lit. it looks like you have to provide your own interior lighting. So yeah I am definately looking forward to this game.

I'm gonna remember this post. After I fall for the hype and buy the game, play for a week or two, then quit. Then i'm gonna be mad at myself for not remembering this sooner if its true.

I played WoW beta for the first time a few days ago at a friends house. I only played for a couple hours, but I wasnt that impressed. Iam not saying it isnt a good game or that its not fun, but I was much more impressed when I saw EQ2 booted up for the first time.
Just my $.02 worth, feel free to disagree.
