They've reported four states so far- Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia (Bush) and Vermont (Kerry). 34-3 Bush so far. None of those are unexpected.

right now Kerry is in the lead, 77-66 electoral votes. It's way too early to even make a guess yet, none of those states are big swing states and half the country is still voting. In a few more hours there should be a more decisive indication of how things are going.

I'm curious.. in a state like Alabama for instance.. how can they call a vote with only 8% of precincts reporting? I'm not familiar with how that works.

You think we would vote Dem?

Seriously though they just compare the current results with the exit polls and wing it for a while.

Calling out the electoral votes is kinda silly right now. Bush will be up until the west coast comes in. The only thing to watch right now is for any difference between what states gore and bush had in 2000.

I only picked it as the example because it had the smallest number of reporting precincts. The other states had 60%

I know this, you know this, but I also know that not doing this does not pump my deleted post count.

The main reason is that the west coast will go to Kerry and shoot his electoral count up..

I have been watching one station just out of not wanting to hear contradicting information. Makes it easier to figure out whats going on.

210-199 .. it's gwtting close again. I predict most of the west coast will go to Kerry now that the numbers are coming in. OH and FL are still way too close tho it will tip the scales I think.
