So I was reading CNN

This cutsie little article about some teenagers who are anti sex.

A few quotes i picked up on.....teens are even more clueless now days than they used to be with so many people pulling them every way possible. These people really seem to be living in a bubble.

I'll show you what I mean, it's almost upsetting that someone would teach these kids so incorrectly.

It's one thing if consentual adults engage in casual sex. I couldn't care less about that: they're adult and they should know what they're getting into. But kids that age hardly seem to know any boundaries any more. Nor do they seem to have any kind of self esteem, especially the girls.

Because it's only the girls giving the guys oral sex, not both ways. The girls are used for a moments gratification. And they do it because they think it's normal. I'm sorry but I don't think it is.

Now you can reply with a oneliner about how girls better learn early how to suck d**k and all that, and I'm sure people would laugh, but if you think seriously about it for one moment, I don't think you really think that situation is right.

What if it's your daughter? Or your son even?

Would you want her to grow up thinking sex is some tool to be used to be popular, and would you want him to grow up thinking that instant gratification is all there is to sex?

I know it sounds old fashioned and all that but there is a more meaningful way to experiencing sex. That, and the world could do with a few more men who treat women like equals.

The real world? It's only as "real" as we make it.

I didn't read it, and I wasn't commenting on that story in particular either.

I was saying there is a trend (about which that article, apparent from your quotes, was talking about) of young girls treating sex as something casual. I was talking about that trend in general, I didn't know it was a crime to deviate from a topic in even the slightest way.

As for a 17 year old, I don't think a 17 year old or an adult for that matter should ever treat sex as 'casual', but that is my personal opinion. There are people that do, but I would hope they are at least mature enough to know the difference between casual and a more bonding type of sex, and have experienced both enough to know when to have which and be fine about it emotionally and physically.

To me young girls like that, having any type of 'casual' sex is some sort of a warped reality that some people call the 'real world', whatever the hell that's supposed to mean, and I'm glad it was never mine. Because the people in it seem painfully indifferent to me. And as far as I'm concerned that's never a good thing.
