Not as much as a priest, that's for certain.

Going into hyjal/BT for the first time, we had two resto shamans

one had +1700 Healing and 200 mp5 unbuffed

the other had +1900 and 1140 mp5 unbuffed.

Really a matter of how you want to play your shaman.

With the new 50mp5 water shield, and the new mana spring, the gear requirements for shamans should be a little lighter.

my guess would be around at least 150-170 mp5 and 1750-1900 healing and a good mana pool with a survivable amount of health around 7-8k

I found that a nice 10 to 1 ratio between healing and MP5 (while casting) is a good balance between the two

I would say you can prob tweak that ratio around now considering they buffed mana spring and water shield (to the point where it is on par if not better then pali wisdom). so now you can put more emphasis on +healing then mp5.

As for a benchmark when going into hyjal/BT

I would say 1700-1800 healing and 170-180 mp5

If you have the shaman trink from ssc, that adds about 30-ish indirect mp5. the meta gem that restores mana, about another 20-ish.
