I am going to make an Irekei Rogue... what are some suggestions.
I know it might not be the smartest, or easiest class to play, but i've never really played a rogue in any MMORPG game... i'm always a fighter.

I'm playing a mage warlock. Level 16 now, and I'm still not sure what I do  There seem to be lots of fighter warlocks, but not so many mage. I was thinking it might be kind of like an eq chanter, but that's not clear yet. I do get root/mez/fear/AE stun and a dot and some debuffs, but the stuns are short, damage breaks root so you can't solo dot/root, and I'm not really sure what mez does yet.
So mostly I just DOT and nuke, and debuff now and then for variety.

heh ok, define "right". It also doesn't help that I can't find a list of what works in pvp and what doesn't. My impression so far is:
root works in pvp (not positive)
single mez works in pvp
AE mez doesn't work in pvp
fear doesn't work in pvp (but does work on pets)
AE stun works in pvp (but hits your own guys pets too?)
AE mana drain works in pvp, but hits your own group too
Half of that is probably wrong though, it's just random stuff I've heard/read. Not sure what else.

-Root works on everything but rogues (not sure what profession tho,might be all rogues).They get a skill that allows them to break root.
-Anything AE is bad in PvP as it all hits your group,unless you cast it on a group outside the radius of your group.Good for harrassing people tho.Not very effective and cost is to high due to easability of avoiding it.
-Basically any DoT/DD/Snare/Root ect works well in PvP.

if u want a pvp god make a warrior. I have a dwarf warrior at lvl 50 with commander rune, already trying to sell it. I played SB for a week, got lvl 50 did some pvp and town raiding and shit and im bored lol. make a dwarf war use warlords page and healthy as an ox at character creation and thank me later.
