lets try to make a good tread to help those who cant decide which class to play.
We need to know the best classes for PVP, the best for PVE and funnest class to play.
Mage - I cant say much Im only level 19 but so far : I can solo np , I can summon my food/water to get my hp/mana fast...I can solo most everything except elite of my level..forget about it they wear of my mana and hp before they die.
Problem is we get no root/pets to cover us.
From what ive read
Paladin : hardest to kill in PVP but dont expect to win people get bore dof you...
mage : normal you can win if you play well can solo well to,
Warlock : good at PVP if you know how to play, they can sol overy well.
Druid : I dont know jack shit about them.
Shaman : solo not bad..seems like people start to know how to beat them in PVP they still can be dangerous if well played.
Priest : no idea except that shadow priest seem to rock in PVP if well played.
Warrior : not much to say they need some love from blizzard to be more solide.
Rogue : solo the best and also the best in PVP if well played because you can leave a battle and come back and so on until you win. expect some nerfs soon.
Hunters: great for solo, normal in PVP?
trade skills now...
I only tried smithing, and alchemy...
Smithing is not bad you make your armor... lol.
Alchemy allow you to make potion and oil BUT no matter what you can only use 1 heal/mana potion at a time and then you must wait for the counter to be done before you can use another one. it SUCK.

Best class I'd say is rogue. They just put out insane DPS and with blind/snare they pwn

Yeah they do own, way too much I think they suck in groups but in PVP and PVE they are the top, they really need a nerf or blizzard need to help a few classes because most eveyrone has a rogue now.

Rogues and Shadow Priests definitely two of the most dangerous.
Shamans are very nasty for support, and pretty much ensure you will not be running from a battle.
Druids are imho the best class at escaping to fight another day.
Paladins are the hardiest class.
Mages can be the most surprising, i believe they have an autocrit talent, and spell that'll pop off 3k hps instantly.
Hunters are great in mass PvP. Hunter's Mark priority targets, and stay way the hell back and pick people off.
I've seen some very good warriors, I hate when a warrior comes out of left field, intercepts, and uses their big attacks on me. But i'd say right now they are the most timid of the classes in PvP.
I think that's all of them.

Rogues are extremely fun in anything, and IMO, don't deserve many, if not any nerfs due to their lack of want in groups/guilds, as well as their populations.
Shamans, although I have not played one, I know people who do, and from what I can see, they solo as well as any of the other main solo classes (Rogue, Warlock)
Warlocks are very good, if you are a good player. Alot of people from what I can see from their skills, wouldn't be able to play one, or wouldn't like it because they couldn't handle it.
Mages are very needed, because no one wants to play them. Their downtime is to much, even at higher levels it is just rediculious. Rogues/warlocks/shamans as well as some other classes can consistently grind mobs 2 levels above or below them without resting (Considering you keep up FA) Great damage, are somewhat fun from what I have noticed.
Warriors are sweet. Although they have some problems, and in my opinion are boring, they have some cool features to them, and they taunt shit off of me when I do 1k+ bs's consistantly.
Druids are awesome no matter what path you go. Alot of people say otherwise, but if you have any interest in them, don't let the morons who claim otherwise convince you not to try them. They are the best healers at high end, if specced healing. Feral apparently is great, although you don't do as much damage or tank as well, you can solo/farm/pvp/battlegrounds very well at 60.
Hunters are my 2nd favorite class before rogues. I say this because I love their uniqueness as well as their soloability. Also I love being able to have pets that can learn new moves (Except the fact that they said when they put hunters in that they were going to give different beasts different abilities, alot of different abilities in fact). Also range = ownage.
Paladins I have no clue about because I hate them so much I refuse to play one. When ever I fight one 1vs1 I have to kill it 3 times, even if I use all my resources and play smart, they are just cheap as f**k, and f*****g 10 year olds play them because they don't have the skill to play something that requires just a tad bit more skill to play.
Priests are awesome. My brother by the time he got to 35ish was getting burnt out because healing wasn't his thing, so I convinced him out of rerolling and going shadow. Shadow priests solo very well, and still do very well in groups. My guilds 2ndary priest is shadow specced, and some of the abilities actually enhance his ability to heal, dramatically.
I suppose every ones synopses are opinionated, but mine sounds the most, heh.

I really like druids. You can make fights take forever if you need to. I'm not super-smart or super-strong irl, but I do know I have 1 strength: patience.  I like making solo fights against elites take forever. Between roots and instant-cast self regens, potions only make the inevitable happen quicker.

I play a 45 Mage. I have laid the smack down on all the overconfident Paladins I have dueled. The secret is Counterspell. As soon as he gets low enough to start to heal I cast this nice little spell and its all over thanks to my instant fire nuke and uninterruptable arcane missle. Also, blinking around a lot helps keep them confused. And yes, Frost Nova roots.

Well more so, if he is a smart undead.
I asked a level 60 rogue guildie if they use their undead racial trait becasue they were complaining about fear in some pvp battles, and they didn't even know they had it...
Lets just say, I laughed IRL and in their face in game.

That's okay. I met plenty of 65+ clerics in EQ1 who never noticed they have a completely mana-free fear spell. With due diligence, I notified SOE and they promptly nerfed the offending spell by giving it a mana cost.
I look at people's pursuit of levels a lot like their pursuit of things irl. They have trouble noticing anything not written in huge, red letters. "YOU CAN IGNORE FEAR SPELLS. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE."
Although I don't know how much more obvious the racial trait could be. It's on page 1 of their abilities Page.
Minion was right. I won't have to worry about getting PK'd once 60, because 90% of the people alive suck at MMO's.

A enhancement shaman will solo better than a elemental shaman. While the elemental shaman has good burst damage he is still limited by mana and will usually have lower ac then a enhancement shaman.
I know as a elemental shaman my melee sucks ass.

i love playing a mage, only being 35 at the moment but getting so many awesome tactics to use in pvp. if all else fails I can root and run. then frostbolt/cone of cold so they cant catch me.

Unless a mob is doing really massive dps, if you have OOC, you can fight indefinitely. OOC and Innervate together, and you can do an even meaner mob like that.
Druid survivability is argueably better then Paladins in PvE.
PvP wise my main issue, is killing anyone in a timely manner is near impossible, and makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

hey i use vw alot. simply because i can sit back and bomb the mob np. plus having gather shadows/sacrifice owns. may not use him later on, but at 38 hes my most used pet.

I'm playing an undead priest, I'm only level 26, but so far it's very fun. I'm mostly shadow speced (a point in disc for unbreakable will, and a few points in holy to improve renew). I haven't PVP'd much yet: got slaughtered during an attack on Crossroads, as I was only level 22 at the time, and got killed during an attack on Splintertree, both times vs 55+ toons amid many 55+ hordes (easy target, I guess); I managed to fear a level 36 dwarf pally at level 26, I forgot that attacking an alliance npc had turned on my pvp flag in Ashenvale, anyway I was busy doing a quest, didn't feel like trying my luck, so I went the other way.
I have dueled some rogues and hunters, and once I got comfortable with my spell sets, I started winning, and winning quite easily, against players 3 to 4 levels higher.
I haven't had any issues PVE, except an unexpected dragon.
