They were both good when they started, but they both got old. I guess I give Seinfeld the edge for creativity, Friends the edge for style. Close call, but I pick Seinfeld.

The thing that was funny to me about the chars in Seinfeld was how many ways they could be neurotic with every day stuff. Kind of like Woody Allen's movies featuring neurotics on speed. No soup for you!
I have one friend like that, I admit, I am not always nice to him, I kinda like poking him when he starts hyperventilating about stupid stuff.
I wonder if Zoloft or Prozac or something might help these people.
I liked Friends, but it could have done itself a favor and stopped last year.

Friends has got some of the worst writing on tv. The series has been played out a number of years but I'm glad it's finally over. The only good thing about the show was seeing Jennifer Anistons nipps popping out now and then.
Seinfeld was the most creative shows about nothing that rivals The Simpsons for sheer entertainment value. Sadly, it's gone but thankfully, Curb your Enthusiasm is around. Wish I had BBC America though cause that Brit office comedy looks hilarious.

Friends stole a lot of what made Seinfeld good, Seinfeld kinda paved the way for a lot of modern comedy shows and such.
I am not saying everything on Seinfeld was original, a lot of older shows like Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Jeffersons etc, they all were very funny, but I guess you could say Seinfeld reintroduced a lot of old stuff, with new stuff. Friends saw what made Seinfeld funny and incorporated a hybrid of it to their show imo.
I could see where maybe people in another country might not get everything to its fullest on Seinfeld, it used a lot of American refrences and things Americans see every day, that you may not in another country. I would think Friends would translate I guess better.
