Short of formatting and reinstalling everything, I am at a loss right now.
I am hoping soem of you technical wizzes may have some ideas on solutions to the problem.
System Info:
Processor: AMD Athlon xp2100+
Memory: 512mb of corsair ddr 2700
Harddrive: IBM 40Gig 7200rpm
OS: Windows XP proffesional
Video: 64mb AGP GeForce 4 mx420
Sound: Soundblaster Audigy Gamer
Started crashing out of the blue in EQ. Crashed to desktop a couple of times, system froze up completely a couple of times, then I also got the blue fatal error screen with memory dump.
Updated Virus Definitons, scanned for virus's none found. Went to run dxdiag and it causes the ftal error screen with memory dump to pop up and computer restart.
I have no idea what is causing this, but if someone has any idea please let me know.

In this order...
Update Direct X (if you have the latest just do it anyways to reinstall)
Restart
Uninstall Video Drivers
Restart
Reinstall Video Drivers
Restart
Test in DXDiag again.
If continues... format... just one idea though

first make sure your Power supply is still good/ clean of dust/ fans spinning/ a good one.. I.E 300 watt or bigger and a good name brand.
computer random reboots are mostly caused by bad powersupplies.
make sure the Processer fan is spinning and heat sink are clean of dust and check thermal compound.. if you have a thermal pad, clean it off and get some compound.
Down load Memtest and run for about a hour.
that should help find it.
