just a general question:
Do you guys seed the same file on a couple of different trackers?
If so, do you create separate torrents in utorrent, or do you just add the tracker to the original torrent when prompted to do so?
(I know some people download a file at once place and seed at another to buffer their accounts but I'm not too sure in what way private trackers read your stats if both trackers are under 1 torrent/if they see it as cheating.)

You must NOT have 2 private trackers assigned to one torrent. As you said you should "Save as..." the torrent and open it, or download it directly from the torrent site and make sure it identifies it as a seperate torrent. I'm not sure if this applies to all trackers, but I read the rules at BitMe and they say you must create sepereate .torrent's. I'd suggest you keep to this practice to avoid trouble I do this sometimes to buffer my accs on othe trackers

Usually I just download the other sites torrent file as well so I can manage the speeds on each one. Usually when you try to add the tracker to the old torrent the stuff doesn't match up and it won't work. Saying that the torrent is not registered to the tracker.

So your saying you could have 2 of the same torrents seeding as if they were two different torrents? and each would be sending to a different tracker?

Let me elaborate.
Say you downloaded a game from site A. You are now seeding to site A via the .torrent file you got from there.
But now site B which you are also a member of has the exact same files/release. Seeing this opportunity you wish to seed there as well. You now download the .torrent file from site B and start it in your torrent client as well. You will first need to point the client to the location of the files. It will then do a file check to see if the integrity of the files matches up, if it all does it will say 100% and start seeding.
You now have two Torrents listed in your client with the same name but seeding to different trackers. Mixing A and B's torrent trackers into one torrent would not work.(I have tried)
I hope this made things a little clearer.

ya you're probably right ApoKalypsus. Do all trackers allow it?? (I guess most interested in music trackers like waffles and what.) They must obviously know that you didn't download the however many Gbs from their tracker since your ratio didn't change. I always just switch off downloading from one or the other but if i could seed at both it would be a lot easier.
(If it works this could be a long project... I have 529 torrents that i could probably seed at a couple of other trackers...)

If you read what I wrote you can seed at both. That is what I do all the time to seem from multiple trackers with the same files.
