So... sell a guy some plat and now He tells Me He got scammed and it's gonna be awhile till He can pay Me and how sorry He is and all. Beginning to fell like I am the one that got scammed. I'm gonna give it a week... and if I haven't received a check by then... I will at least get the satisfaction of ranting some more and letting Yas know who it was.

I would really like to know who does it this way? Everybody I have seen wants the plat up-front.

The check was My idea... not Theirs. I don't trust Pay-Pal. Pay-Pal is not foolproof... the payment can easily be reversed as soon as They get yer plat. It all comes down to Trust and Reputation.

never, ever ever give anyone an account, items, plat unless you have real cash in hand first. There are dozens of scammers who do this kind of scam all the time.

Pay-Pal transactions can be reversed tho... so what is the difference between that and a check?

If they, or you for that matter, will not do Pay-Pal then do only accept a money order. That is the best way to ensure you are not going to get scammed outta your money.

Just take a fooking money order or Western Union.
When i buy stuff from people or ebay for example i always use WU for speedy results and they can't complain that they got scammed or something. =/

Insist they use a mutual 3rd party with a reputation that neither can disparage.

That is how just about everyone does it. It is stupid to give them the PP or account before you get the cash.

/agree wellspoken.

BTW if the cheque is legit give a copy to the police and report it as fraud.

no cash in the account and writting a cheque = fraud.

Normally before recieving cheques you cash them before sending out the goods. This way you know if its legit and all. Tend to get 3 scanned pieces of ID attached to the cheque to cover your own a*s in the future. Signed cheques alone these days are useless.

But writting a cheque without cash in an account = serious fraud charges. They used to do alot against those ppl writting cheques for groceries, banking etc..

Same with visa/mastercard no signed statement, and no swipe they can go back on the purchases.

I am out 2600 bucks from that one Sad atleast they jailed the crew for that scam just no items where returned to the company Sad
