Satellite modems blow chunks!

After battling LD's right and left, the EQ Techs have ruled out any hardware conflicts and decided it's packet loss from my Satellite Modem. Can't get Cable Modem or DSL in this area currently, so I'm going to crawl into a corner and cry for awhile. Sad

Gah! I'm fekked...

Just one idea left...could it be possible to use a land line for information from my machine to the internet and just use the satellite for incoming data??? Would that help with the latency or no??? /confused

I'm fairly certain that using satellite for any online game will yield subpar results when compared to punching yourself in the nuts. Just use a phone line, it really only hurts in the pride department.

Doc...ISDN baby! It's hella expensive but even using one channel in lieu of 2 will yield very good results for eq.

Hi Doc, I have the same problem the only high speed access I can get here in the sticks is Satellite =(

I use dial up and can only get 21-24k LMAO but everything works fine, I just zone slow as shit and in big raids I sometimes have problems. BUT for everyday playing I run fine.

if you have too do multilinking, 2 modems 2 dialups one computer. cheaper than ISDN usually
