So I got Sat. TV when I moved to LA cuz its cheaper than cable.
But now I got like 500 channels. Which sounds good in theory, but m**********r there's too much shit on TV. I can't even get through them all.
And ESPN is on channel 243, and MTV is like 129, or some shit.
And Sat TV has a slight lag from when you change the channel and when you see the picture.
Anyone else go through this?

I have both right now. directv and comcast cable.
Comcast has more HD channels.
Direct is cool cuz there's more channels
comcast is cool cuz there's more Mtvs and more HBOs
Direct is cool cuz you can clone your card and not pay for PPVs and add tiers to give yerself allthe channels.
6 of 1, half dozen of another

if you're wanting more HDTV keep an eyeball out for Vroom Satellite...HD only broadcasting on about 45 channels for around $40 a month. They should be available in the next month or so and have more channels coming available in the very near future and can replace one of your exhisting providers.
We have Directv and digital cable here too...
I prefer the satellite personally...yes there's a slight "hang time" when channels are changed. It's caused by the lag in the signal coming in from the satellite....you'll notice the sound is almost instant, the image not. I forget the speed at which the video signal travels, but it's slower than the audio portion when you're changing channels.
Once the channel is locked in you're reciever calibrates the signals so they're syncronized

A card that does what? |
in directv and dish network systems, there's a smart card that you can most of the time buy a reader/writer for and hack it

woot! Thanks Tamena! I'm becoming more and more adicted to HD. I'm finding myself watching shows I'd never watch, but since they're in HD, watching them.
