Just saw some 'breaking news' banner on Foxnews saying Saddam just confessed to crimes/killings.
SO, think they'll execute him or just lock him up forever? My bet goes to execution...but how is the question ;p

I've heard it said that Saddam should be found guilty summarily on all charges and should be immediately sentenced to be the new president of Iraq.

Why not? Is there some doubt that he is guilty?

I'm pained more every second he is breathing. Most people just want him dead, and done with.

i think when people start seeing eye witness documentaries of the holocaust that had gone on for years and years under Saddam they will change their whole outlook on the middle east, and more specificly the war effort being conducted now.

Random mind altering substance generated thoughts:
Maybe Saddam shouldn't be executed, though I expect the Iraqi law of the land will leave little choice. Maybe he ought to have to live with his crimes. Maybe he should personally dig up all the graves.
As far as him confessing to ordering executions and the like, I bet we're only getting half the story. I expect for each execution he has his own justifications for every order - i.e. in his mind they were justified, given the conditions.
Who's to say it's going to be any easier over there trying to keep a theocracy together, when laws and actions are based on what none of us would consider rational thinking.
Saddam tamed Iraq via brutal means. Maybe that was and is the only way to do it. Civil war is inevitable in Iraq - unless the US of A intends to force democracy and stay there for say 60 or 70 years.

What about giving each Iraqi citizen one dart, and tying him to a post, and letting them play bulls-eye from 10 yards. And like 1 in 1000 would be coated with a mild paralytic agent to paralyze whatever part of the body was hit. So if you nail him in the thigh, he'd fall down. That would be cute. Oops, I think that's one of the things you're supposed to think but not say.

It's cheaper to get rid of him, and who gives a shit about slow and sweet revenge, just do it.

Somehow I doubt he voluntarily decided to confess.
