It is my theory that Dream Theater plays covers from other bands simply to take a break... LOL
DT is one of the most hardest bands to cover... learning just one of their songs takes a hell of a lot of time. I'd rather have to learn zeppelin, metallica, rush, floyd or just about anyone else I can think of.
Oh... and as far as rush sucking goes, I'd have to disagree. Everyone has preferences as far as taste is concerned, but saying they just "suck" is ignorance in my opinion.

You really should look into a subject before you start posting about it.
Ive seen DT about 4 times in the past years and 3 of the 4 tiems they played a Rush song. I have this CD here called "Working Man" Its a tribute to Rush, Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci also play on that CD.
That shows some respect from DT to Rush. I dont think they suck

The worst part of Rush is the guy's voice. OMG I want to kill myself when I hear him. The only time that kind of delivery appeals to me is in Supertramp's 'The Logical Song.' Otherwise, if you're a guy... please try to sound like one.
