I read somewhere that Final Fantasy XI is Role Play game. However, I do not know what the RP is. Can someone answer me? Moreover, please, do not laugh. I am completely new to gaming scene, so I still do not know tons of stuff. In addition, I found a great review about Final Fantasy XI, so I want to start playing that game, but I want to know what is RP. Will anyone help me, without laughing?

Why would someone laugh at you? Many of us started just like you, not knowing many stuff about any game, including Final Fantasy XI. Role Playing Game or RPG is type of game in which you take a role of fictional character of your choosing and create or follow stories. There are several systems of rules and guide rules that you must obey. In RPG there are no winners or losers, because you follow stories that someone made up. And when you finish one story, you can just continue with another. These games are very social in nature so they are popular to wide numbers of players.
