First the easy question: What skills/stats are needed to increase ATTACK POWER MELEE??? I feel mine is too low for my lvl 60. (497 using Barman Shanker)

I'm sure you are all tired of seeing this question, but it's driving me nuts trying to find a decent spec. I feel like I dont hit hard enough. Currently I am using duel daggers (Barman Shanker / Keris of Zul'Serak), but willing to swith to sword/sword or sword/dagger, just need help spec'ing please.
Here is my current spec, please feel free to make comments or criticisms towards it. I'm just tired of paying 25-30g to respec and feel like I'm not making improvements.

ASSASSINATION:
Malice 5/5

Total 5 points

COMBAT:
Improved SS 2/2
Lightning Reflexes 3/5
Improved BS 3/3
Precision 5/5
Improved Evasion 2/2
Dagger Spec 5/5
Dual Wield Spec 5/5

Total 25 points

SUBTLETY:
Master of Deception 5/5
Opportunity 5/5
Initiative 4/5
Improved Ambush 3/3
Improved SAP 3/3
Preparation 1/1

Total 21 points

Please help me Smile

Thanks!!!

+Attack power for a rogue is 1pt of str or 1pt of agility per 1 pt of attack power.

If you're doing a dagger build, the popular choice is 21 assassination, 8 combat, 22 subtlety, points put in thusly:

Subtlety Mastery
Master of Deception 5/5
Opportunity 5/5
Initiative 5/5
Improved Ambush 3/3
Improved Sap 3/3
Preparation 1/1
Subtlety Total: 22

Combat Mastery
Improved Gouge 3/3
Improved Sinister Strike 2/2
Improved Backstab 3/3
Combat Total: 8

Assassination Mastery
Improved Eviscerate 3/3
Malice 5/5
Ruthlessness 3/3
Murder 2/2
Relentless Strikes 1/1
Lethality 5/5
Improved Instant Poison 1/5(this could be any 1 point in this tree, maybe improved expose armor, just need to get to 20 for...)
Cold Blood 1/1
Assassination Total: 21

Improved ambush and improved backstab increases that crit chance for those abilities. Lethality +opportunity gives you big backstab crits.

Melee damage isn't significant, especially in PvP, only melee abilities like backstab, SS and ambush are significant. Dual wield spec is a waste. Precision isn't as great as I thought it was as it only decreases your chance to miss entirely, blocks/parries overide this skill, not great. Imroved evasion can be substituted for improve gouge as gouge is better anyway. Guarenteed they won't be attacking you for 1.5 more seconds. Dagger spec is ok but I'd rather have bigger backstabs than crit 5% more.

I can't believe you don't have improved eviscerate or cold blood. Cold blood +ambush, gouge, prep, cold blood, re-stealth, ambush is game over on casters.

thanks for the info, looks like im gonna spend another 30g to respec Smile

I played as a mace combat rogue to 60, and i loved it, but most mobs 60 and up are immune to stun therefore I've been looking for a new spec ever since.

Thanks!!!

Mace spec is decent for PVP but worthless for PVE at level 60.

2 pts of atk power per agi*

And that talent build is awful. If you're looking for a dagger build (on pve I assume, I wouldn't be caught dead using that on pvp), try this:

Subtlety Mastery
Master of Deception Rank 5
Opportunity Rank 5
Improved Ambush Rank 3
Subtlety Total: 13

Combat Mastery
Improved Gouge Rank 3
Improved Sinister Strike Rank 2
Improved Backstab Rank 3
Combat Total: 8

Assassination Mastery
Improved Eviscerate Rank 3
Malice Rank 5
Ruthlessness Rank 3
Murder Rank 2
Relentless Strikes Rank 1
Lethality Rank 5
Improved Instant Poison Rank 5
Cold Blood Rank 1
Seal Fate Rank 5
Assassination Total: 30

OR:

Combat Mastery
Improved Gouge Rank 3
Improved Sinister Strike Rank 2
Lightning Reflexes Rank 2
Improved Backstab Rank 3
Precision Rank 5
Dagger Specialization Rank 5
Blade Flurry Rank 1
Combat Total: 21

Assassination Mastery
Improved Eviscerate Rank 3
Malice Rank 5
Ruthlessness Rank 3
Murder Rank 2
Relentless Strikes Rank 1
Lethality Rank 5
Improved Instant Poison Rank 5
Cold Blood Rank 1
Seal Fate Rank 5
Assassination Total: 30

OR:

Subtlety Mastery
Master of Deception Rank 5
Opportunity Rank 5
Initiative Rank 5
Improved Ambush Rank 3
Improved Sap Rank 3
Preparation Rank 1
Subtlety Total: 22

Combat Mastery
Improved Gouge Rank 3
Improved Sinister Strike Rank 2
Improved Backstab Rank 3
Combat Total: 8

Assassination Mastery
Improved Eviscerate Rank 3
Malice Rank 5
Ruthlessness Rank 3
Murder Rank 2
Relentless Strikes Rank 1
Lethality Rank 5
Improved Instant Poison Rank 1
Cold Blood Rank 1
Assassination Total: 21

And that's just for daggers.

You're wrong, it's 1 point of attack power per agility and 1 point per strength. Check your gear. I know for a fact if I wear a Tarnished Elven Ring(15 agility 1% to hit) I get 15 attack power and if I wear a Band of the Ogre king(14 strength 13 stamina) I get 14 attack power. Agility is of course better as it adds crit(29 agility at level 60=1% crit) and dodge(14.5 agility= 1% of dodge at level 60) as well as attack power. Just remember strength is not useless as it also adds attack power. If rogues got double attack power from agility and none from strength we'd have 800 attack power or so and that would be sick.

And the 30/8/13 build is also good in PVE but less versitile in PVP without preparation for the other timers like blind/vanish. 21/8/22 is the most versitle build for both PVP and PVE, it's just slow as shit for combo point building after the initial Ambush(75% for 2) or Cheap Shot(75% for 3).
