With the addition of RoK, and with some time for it to settle in...some people may be fond or may not like the latest expansion of the game.
It's quite different from the past expansions as it is wide open zones with mostly solo mobs, and one of the main ways to actually level up through the tier is doing solo quests.
My question to you is, do you enjoy this new way of leveling, or would you prefer grinding out all that xp in a dungeon group?
Personally I would rather grind, after quest-leveling two chars to 80 it is quite easy if you have the right class, but if you get stuck with a low dps class such as a healer you are in for a long frustrating process.

The problem with ROK is that there is a complete overemphasis on itemization. Making it much easier to compensate for a lack of skill by having superior gear. However, the expansion did a lot to make the new lands much more seamless and the graphics engine now has much more to offer with the amount of detail to armor and physical appearances.

Gotta love eq2 devs....t5-t7 pretty bla on what gear people needs...the raid and non casual community complains so the devs of course over do it...

i dislike RoK, the release of epic weapons on pvp servers has caused everybody to exile. its just too hard for the good or evil faction to get them
|

Gear > Skill, is all I have to say pretty much. If you want to dominate (PvP especially) you need to have the upper hand in gear.
