Not in the least bit surprised.
Last week we had a Republican state rep say 'we need to suppress the Detroit vote, or Michigan is in trouble,' in a closed-door meeting. Somehow it leaked out, but he's offered no apology yet. That's awesome, preventing citizens from voting is really democracy in action there!
(and this was on the heels of the nationally known 'Nadergate,' the Michigan GOP is doing all they can to alienate even their own voters apparently)

| Quote: | | McGee came up with the phone-jamming plan as a way to give Republicans an edge over Democrats, using a lesson from his days in the military, Hinnen told the U.S. District Court Judge Joseph DiClerico. I find this disturbing.
What kind of mindset is that? Elections should not be seen as a war.
The bad thing is that I feel that a lot of Americans have this mindset. "If you're not with us, you're against us." Not just during electiontime either. Extremism rules and moderation seems to be an outdated concept with a lot of people.

thats because its the same brain cells thinking up all this stuff...religion politics... its all the same. thinking thinking thinking. We need to suppress the thinking!
Even the type of horse riding I am into is treated like a religion and politics. Everyone in their own camps of who agrees with them while giving hard looks to anyone that doesn't. Its in every aspect of life, its how we tick. Its when dishonesty and other moral issues enter into it that it gets really sad.

Let's not forget democrats bussing in bums - er I mean homeless people - from out of state and paying them off with cigarettes to vote for them in 2000. Or trying to have the absentee military vote thrown out (every vote must count!!), or trying to count votes for Pat Buchannon as votes for Al Gore or...
Dirty tricks, ruthless lust for power, and endless b******t from both sides folks.
Now, I'm not defending this idiot and he got what was coming to him - glad to hear they nailed his ass and are sending him to prison. Hopefully they will catch more, be they Democan or Republicrat.
As far as the electronic voting goes - I agree total b******t and begging for tampering. These things need to at the very least have printouts of the votes available.

How does "some guy convicted of making harassing phone calls" equate to "Republicans admit to felony vote tampering". Are you ever right...about anything?

This isn't ethical, but it's not "vote tampering".

This is why I always object when I hear someone claim that XX million people have been killed over religion in the past and so religion is inherently bad. I don't think religion causes people to kill each other. Killing each other is human nature. Religion is just an excuse.
