Can someone recommend me a good remote desktop? I want to be able to control my work computer from home, and vice versa. I'd preferrably want something that doesn't require any action on the machine I'm trying to connect to. Also, I don't want to have to pay for it.

Prepare to use a fair amount of bandwidth
Or you could install Linux / FreeBSD and do everything remotely you can do at the machine itself.

DameWare is what my buddy uses...
Or remote desktopping in WinXP

Bandwidth isn't an issue. I have a 3.0m cable connection at home, and my work uses the same ISP.

remote desktop (included with version of windows later than 2000) is a great RDP program. Its secure and I have yet to come across any sniffers, etc for RDP.
