I keep getting the Net Optimizer search engine as my default error page. It's like the plague, it won't go away.
And puremomson changed my life.

Ya got spyware installed ... install adware http://www.lavasoftusa.com or Hijack This! http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/ which will tell you exactly what is hijacking your home page.

I just had one of these and Adaware and Spybot SD wouldn't kill it but I did some googling and got a program called cwshredder that killed it finally.
