This place seems to get more boring by the day. I'll admit I don't help with my jurassicly out of date reposts, but anyways, every semi-interesting thread gets derailed by Kireol vs _(any one of many people)__ , or the 4 year old 'shocker' of posting someone with fluids coming out of their ass or .. their ass coming out of their ass..or a huge gaping ass. Other than Occulis and a few others this place is turning into one big snore. Agree with me or just say "Shut the f**k up Frax"

I agree, but its the only place where I can write whatever the fk I want, and get shit for it. I don't come here to catch up on current events or news, or to discuss my personal life, or relate to others about a certain interest. I come here to bother people and stir shit. I don't know how much longer this board is going to last, but once it does dissapear I'm definately going to miss it. I consider this place one of those pitt stops or breaks in my daily run of bs, Just a place where I can bs and not feel like there is any responsibility to actively participate or react according to any social constructs because the audience may leave. The annonymous conversation can be 10X more interesting than the same old shit you hear and say to people you've known for years. My theory is that some people are never meant to come in contact with certain other people, and that after a while everyone can be irritated by any person. Because of certain unwritten rules people do not tell eachother their honest and true opinions or feelings about the person or what they have done/said. the discourse of an annonymous discussion board alllows that because responsibility for what you say is practically eliminated (on lax boards like this). The problem with discussion entirely in texts is loss of nonverbal communication as well as loss of tone and attitude of the person writing. I could go on about how TV is so uninterative it reduces a person's ability to think, and how the universe was started, but I'm too tired, so I'll leave you all with a few quotes before I go to sleep. Selvin was born in the Lendore Isles several years after the realms of Arrisa reclaimed it. In his early years he worked as a scribe for one of the libraries the council had erected after the 400 year war. He began study of magic along with his normal duties as a clerk in the library. There was undoubtedly a wealth of power and knowledge in spending most of his time this way. His true goal however was to attempt to gain a seat on the council in his later years of life. Unfortunately he realized, spending most of your life as a clerk studying mundane less powerful magic at a slow rate wouldn't help him reach his goal very quickly. He asked his father to spend more time tutoring him and took leave as a clerk at the library to make more time for his studies. After working for some time he approached the council about joining and was refused. He gave up at this point and returned to work as a clerk at the library. Over time the relationship between him and the rest of his family became distant and cold as he became more and more bitter due to the refusal of joining the council. Eventually he had all but given up on ever joining the council. Several years later after his father had died he began spending nights in his father's study looking over the old books he had collected over time. Eventually he stumbled upon his father's old journal and began reading it each night. After some time he found an entry describing his fathers thoughts on him attempting to join the council. He fully supported him, however, he had his doubts. The only way a member had ever joined the council was through some great achievement. His father described a place of great elven knowledge that had been defaced by an evil god along with other information which seemed to make no sense. He spoke of how if he were to travel there and reclaim some of this knowledge the council would no doubt recognize his prowess. Selvin with this knowledge in hand decided to strike out toward the crystal mountains leaving from the Lendore Isles to never return again unless the knowledge from Crystal Mountains was in his charge.

Agreed. I have a little more time to browse the internet on the weekend, so I still stop by then (reading a few threads), but I don't even bother during the week. For me, it's a combination of every joke being old and quitting EQ over a year ago. The same few people also love to kill threads, and that too works to the detriment of RP.
