The guy is impossible now.
The knockback "Wrath of Ragnaros" makes him completely non-maintankable. Even with main tank/secondary tank, he knocks both back lol.
Without a main tank, you have no melee DPS which was contributing about 80% of the total damae to rag. Without DPS you cannot kill him and have enough mana left. At the rate we're going, we're gonna have to do the son's of flame 3-4 times and our casters will be out of mana by the beginning of the second.

Same with Onyxia. She's usually a 20 minute speedbump, but we wiped 5 times to her yesterday. Maybe we just had some bad luck though. But yeah Rag blows goats now. Please post your leet kill strategy when you figure one out.

not to mention the lava spurts. they dont do a ton of damage but it adds up quick on the dps classes. the kb really sucks we get him to 50% before sons, where before he was usally around 25-30.

We did the new Onyxia our first try yesterday, she is still no problem. However, we went and tried Rag and he owned us. We make sure everyone has 2x fire pots each try so np there but tanks gets tossed and all the melee get raped, and there isnt anything left to handle the sons, or rag for that matter. Semms like he isnt focusing on the main tank anymore

a. Onyxia is still cake. We beat her wednesday like a bongo. Hell, I forgot to salvation half the rogues and gave'em sanctuary instead and not a one of'em died.
b. Rag...this guy is definately a b*****d now, but I THINK we got'em. Just gonna take a bit of retooling.
Also, practice your strategies w/o usin potions or other expendables to keep the overall costs down while you are learning. Currently we are getting him to 60ish w/o any consumables but still need some refinement.

60 and sons. The Sons are still cake to deal with and w/ potions we can take care of them too. Rag is still just the rat b*****d though. But I think we got a winner once we get things in line. Such is the problem of bein one of the "newer" folks to MC.

Are you modifying the tank stacking to get around blast or spacing alternate tanks around to chain agro?
I think alternate tanks is going to be key.

I havn't fought the new Rag yet (I really don't have a clue if his knockback checks FR or if it's physical or not), but my theory after the patch was that Blizzard tweaked him so that players would need better gear in order to even attempt him. I kinda had that feeling when they upped the FR and SR on Might (I'm speculating that BWL will be heavily Shadow Resist dependant because of Nefarian).
Since you can't reasonably get a tank over 200 FR with non-might pieces, and not have the rest of his stats suck complete ass, I guess I was right.

Our tank had over 300 FR last night and he got punted every time.
We're using a strat we call "The Football".
We have a football that is basically going to take the punt every time. It's being refined. We got him to 65% without pots last night on half-assed tries and about 10g of repairs for me.

You just got lucky.
Here is the report from our MT:

Also, ive heard WoR is ~ every 30 seconds though i havnt been able to test that out yet.
This is a long fight, you have to deal with at least one wave of sons and maybe even two. Range dps and mana will be the most important things in
this fight. |

We got him to friggin' 2% last night... 2 god damn percent. It was a botched run though... our MT went LD about 15 seconds before the 1st son spawn.
We had to deal with 2 son spawns to get him to 2% though...

I'm glad they changed him though. The rogue zerg strat was stupid, he should be challenging and a pain in the ass to kill, requiring teamwork on a massive f*****g scale to kill his ass.

We got him to 3% with only 39 ppl in raid...woulda had him if not for a bugged instance. One more rogue/hunter/mage we woulda had him.

We have yet to beat him still. We know it's something to do with the 30 sec timer causing punts. We did a timer to call 2nd tank to taunt right before the main tank got punted (28 sec mark) so he would get agro and not the rouges but alas, he turns around and rapes the DPS still. I suggested we move all DPS out except for the main tank at the 30 sec intervales. This would mean the main tank would either resist the punt or take it. After tank is punted and charges back and regains agro the DPS would reengage. Guild said no though, saying would loose to much DPS, but I would still like to give it a try.
If you have beat him please post your strat! He is really frustrating me!!! We have over 50 onyxia scale cloaks, ready to beat his ass and just move onto BWL!
