omfg this is driving me nuts...I just got a Radeon 9700 Pro (All in wonder) and its crashing...a lot, ill be in EQ- Counterstrike - or just plane winamp and sometimes it will freeze up or sometimes it will crash and then kill my resoloution, color settings....This is really getting annoying, drivers dont really make a difference since the new ones are worse anyways...Anyone know or has had this problem before...help

ive got the 9700 Pro, never had a probem with anything ( other then camelot, but im thinking that was just a low Ghz thing )

Just try the new drivers; can't hurt

on their site it addresses an issue that kinda sounds like my problem but it says to update motherboard drivers...there really arent any from Asus...
I got a Asus P4G8X Deluxe, running a 3.06...the system is not hot i dont think (48C processor, 35C motherboard)

Asus has 4-1 drivers. You need to download those to update your agp drivers.

Good place to start is, you guessed it.. www.asus.com!

I think i got it fixed, i updated using Asus update util...God damn They really need to figure out a better way to update drivers on computers...
it happened again after i updated but im hoping that was isolated...
if anyone else has suggestions here are my EXACT specs

Asus P4G8X Deluxe Motherboard
Pentium 4 3.06Ghz (Hyper Threading: ENABLED)
2X512MB PC2700DDR (DUAL CHANNEL MODE)
Western Digital 160GB Special Edition HD (Connected Through PCI ATA Controller)
Cooling/Power: ThermalTake Spark 7 (Auto mode), Vantec Stealth 470W PSU,)

well aside from this i had a weird feeling that the card might not be getting enough power...im monitoring voltage and its about 4.8 for the +5 which should be ok...but the line im using for the graphics card also has 2 hard drives connected to Via the other 2 Molex's on it...Not sure if that would be a problem..

Anyway-any suggestions?

You've fallen for the classic case of "ATI's Drivers Suck Ass".

Yeah, you should spent your money on NVidia, GeForce vid card! Smile

All the horror stories about ATI's drivers keep me away from their products.
