|
|
|
I've been looking into buying this but I had some questions about it. First of all, assuming I exceed the maximum weight, would the vehicle just cease function? Or would it function normally with a dramatic loss in MPH? Should I be concerned by the fact that the side view mirrors are just stickers? Finally does anyone know where I can purchase mod kits for this.
Thanks in advance.

my advice is to get modded tires cause once you exceed the max weight they will crack and eventually fall off. You should be fine if the stickers fall off as well because aluminum foil is readily available to replace it AND you can get it from any grocery store.

From what I hear they add a couple pounds to the weight of the vehicle. I suppose I could try going for rubber tires but then I risk popping.

I remember seeing somewhere tires that were made out of solid rubber--this might help the popping problem. I am not sure about the loss in power because of added weight though so you might want to speak to an expert in the field.

As you can see the majority of my questions center around the weight issues, I don't suppose there's a mod that could increase the weight capacity for a reasonable price (and no too difficult to install.)
I'm a bit chubby, I eat a lot of 5 lb human fetuses and they average around 1800 calories each.

Hmm that is a tough question. I am not really sure how the braking system would be affected since we cannot be sure of how much the excess weight will change the maximum speed of the vehicle. My suggestion would to maybe reduce your caloric intake to 4 fetuses a day and try not to eat right before riding.

What you should really consider is an engine transplant. Just look around junk yards or low-end dealerships which will sell wrecked bikes for parts, and harvest a larger engine. Sure, it may take a little work and a few modifications, but the added wieght of larger tires will no longer matter!

12V rechargeable system/battery and charger included
the funny thing about this topic is that I bought my daughter this "warrior Princess Quad" about 2 years ago.
Specs are:
High Performance, 5 & 2 1/2 mph forward & 2 1/2 mph reverse on most surfaces.
Working horn
Foot pedal on/off plus brake
High speed lockout for adult supervision
Working gearshift lever
Totally enclosed body, wiring, motors & gearboxes
Vehicle will carry up to 65 lbs.
The tires are blow molded high density polyethylene.
Battery & Re-charger are included.
Manufacturer's Warranty Applies: 1 year warranty on vehicle; 6 month warranty on battery.
Overall Dimensions- Length: 39” Width: 24” Height: 26”
ok now to my point,
when the battery went bad I replaced the orignal Dry cell 12v battery with a wet cell 12v lawn tractor battery
and then I studded the rear tires with 5/16 head self tapper screws.
Now the thing can carry me without effort and i weight 190lbs. and with my 5 1/2 year old daughter (40lbs) it wheelies on the grass and has a top speed of over 10mph i bet.
hehe sometimes it pays to be a gear head

Sitck to the Big Wheel.
Car & Driver Mag. rated it much safer and more economic to drive.

What the hell are you doing that you might exceed the weight limit of a bike? lol And do they even post such specs for that? I can't find em for my bike lol
Well, I can see it if you get a little 125cc bike and then you and your GF both weight combined are 650 pounds... that might do it.
But if that's the case, just get a bike that isn't made for midgets!

The info Grummpy posted was very helpful, much appreciated!

its the topic of many conversations when people see it in action
and if it had metal gears and rubber tires i would of put a Chain saw engine on it
only thing is its scary sometimes watching my daughter ride it, cause when she takes off on the grass the studded tires dont spin and it lifts the front wheels for like 2-3 feet at which time she cant steer.
the throttle is nothing more then just a on off switch so its all or nothing, that gets hairy when theres obsticals around.
on the pavement it dont turn it just plows the front wheels so she has to stay on the grass lol.
a big thing that worries me is how long the plastic gears are going to last cause normaly when it would come to a hill the quad would just stop and the tires would spin with no stress, now with the studs and more Amps battery it just motors up all the really steep hills.
now that I think about it I bet it would make a great funny internet video!
