Neither are of any good use because they'd do anything the vocal people in their parties told them to. Take Kbarr: If Bush said that the state of New York was a threat to American security he'd move to Jersey and call for eradication of New York.

Conservatives by definition champion the "old" or "existing" way of doing things. As such it's not hard for them to propose courses of action, since they just say "do what we've done before." "Liberals" see problems with the way things are done or were done and look for ways to improve. Even if they don't have an idea how to improve, it doesn't mean the current way of doing things isn't f****d up. I think the problem with liberalism is that you can't sit around waiting for the better way to come along, so you frequently end up doing it the "old" way, even if it isn't optimal.
As for the question of what rights the current administration has taken / is taking away, the PATRIOT act outlines many of them pretty well. Privacy, private ownership, and the right to do whatever you want to yourself as long as you don't harm someone else are all rights that they are in the process of attempting to revoke. The whole gay marriage thing... who cares if gays marry? How does it hurt some stupid fat housewife in Kansas if two gay guys in Maine get married?

One thing though. You do understand that this "thinking for yourself" works better when aimed at a democrat. I could say the same thing, that all their ideas are pumped into them by the liberal media. That liberals are so stupid, so dense, have such low IQs and attention spans that they pretty much lap up whatever MTV, the liberal national news stations, the local papers, and the majority of cable news outlets feed them.
