Question about housing in Vanguard

Hi, all. I'm not yet playing Vanguard because I'm waiting for a huge system upgrade to be done on our family's computer, but I've been reading stuff on the game a little, getting the feel of things and stuff, and the other day I found out that Vanguard has a housing limitation, is that true? I heard one house per player, but it could be they mean "per player *character*, I don't know…
I'm afraid it's true, I heard the same I don't have a place of my own (in the game, of course 
yet, but as I've been told, you're allowed one house per account, regardless of how many alt characters you have. Personally, I think that sucks, but not that many people are complaining, so I don't know.
