In the first movie, doesn't Mystique (Rebecca Romijn Stamos) die?
If so, how is she in part 2?

She gets stabbed in the fight with Wolverine but she doesn't die. After Magneto gets shotdown and they rescue Rogue from the tower, there is a scene in which some security guards are walking through the complex. "Hey get this one, he's still alive" (or something) says one guard. The camera pans out to the sight of an injured guard with some VERY familiar stab marks in his lower torso.
In the last scene of the movie, you see that Senator whatever is on TV (anyone watching the movie should know he is dead by now) and he is basically taking back all the support he lent to the cause of the Mutant Registration Act.
Well this is odd, is it not? As the X-Men are watching this, they pause the tape at a face shot of the Senator, and you see clearly Mystique's yellow eyes shining out from the face.
"Mystique..." Storm mumbles..
Closing and credits roll.

I really liked the first x-men movie.. Even though it didn't have the sentinals. If they have a part 3, then that should be the main plot ..

They need to have Gambit (WTF he shoulda been in the first one) and/or Archangel in the next one, and instead of the ghey sentinals either Sinister or Apocalypse (if they aren't playing to have movies beyond 3 then definately Apocalypse). Prolly have to have Cable in a semi Cameo state too.....
